Worth the fun Reviewed by John on Aug 11, 2014   3 out of 5

I payed $15 for this set first budk purchase, and was so excited when box came, that being said the handles are wrapped in more of a purple color not brown, and I cut myself because the the blades poke threw the sheath. I sliced threw a watermelon and it felt awesome, then diced same watermelon like the video... Now blade has a big chip in blade. Swords look and feel good but do not use on anything as you will be disappointed. All in all budk rocks as for these swords put on the wall

The swords are are pretty great, I mean wicked sharp and Extremely Pointy, could slice threw your flesh like it was hot butter....But the Sheath is not well suited to these Amazing swords at all, Perhaps a Leather Sheath instead. And as for the pain and vibration when striking something...I'm certain if you wore leather gloves it would take care of the pain from striking ...And they are just so Unbelievably inexpensive and I would and have mentioned them to friends...I absolutely Love Mine....I hope you love yours too!!!

Top notch Reviewed by David Darr on Jan 30, 2014   5 out of 5

The 2 piece sword is excellent quality nicely balanced and just the right weight. Getting them both into one sheath is a bit tricky until you do it a couple of times. I would recommend this item to anyone.

Shanghai Surprise Reviewed by G on Jan 04, 2014   4 out of 5

The Shanghai surprise swords are really what you pay for, the edge is nice right out of the box, very sharp points, and they look cool. The solid one piece construction with only nylon makes hitting anything say a tree painful, the sheath is not great watch that the tips dont poke through it. For 30 bucks though I would absolutely recommend them.

Shanghai Surprise Reviewed by Sarah Anne on Oct 02, 2013   4 out of 5

I got the ShangHai surprise and thought the would be great. but once I got them they feel unnatural in the hands and want to lean forward, the balance of the tang and the blade is off. also the cord around the handle frays, but with a lighter I melted the edges and they give me no more trouble. the sheath is a different story, hate it, when I first got it the sharp blades cut right through the sheath, so I ended up having to wrap the end with leather. they are wicked sharp.

amazing! Reviewed by george on Jul 08, 2013   5 out of 5

amazing swords. literally sharper than most of my knives. although i lost one and one eventually broke because i was messing aroun and threw it ( on purpose) and broke off the tip. it then looked crappy so i slammed it lightly against a rock. it broke!. its my fault though

ok first to mention is how cheap these swords are, and that does not mean they are cheaply made. they arrived amazingly sharp ( accedently cut my hand just taking them out the plastic wrapping lol ). also a nice solid thick sword. the case is not cheap as some people are saying, its just that the swords are so good it is very easy to cut through it....

If you like two-handed sword combat, look no further Reviewed by Michael on May 01, 2013   5 out of 5

Off the bat, I will mention (as other comments have) that yes, the handle wrapping and sheath are low quality; as in the wrap slips around a bit and my swords are currently jutting out of the end of the sheath that broke almost immediately (that's just kinda what happens when you try to contain razor sharp blades in nylon or lower quality materials) but hey, the short-swords are fantastic. I love two-sword fighting and defense so, that is a part of it, but the blades on these are shaped perfectly for stabbing or cutting And the handles are both flat edged on one side each (this makes them a unified twin sword) but the feeling and maneuverability when you grab correctly, is unmatched in my opinion. They're very lightweight and so easy to sharpen and maintain an edge. Whenever I find myself trying to buy another short-sword of any kind, I stop and remember I have these and realize I already have the best there is for under hundreds of dollars. With a small amount of modding
