30% malfunction Reviewed by Shannon Lute on Nov 26, 2015   3 out of 5

3/5 stars. The thermometer, as previously stated is about 10 degrees high, the hygrometer is consistently 10% low and the signal mirror is glued in place so you cannot use the sighting holes to be sure you are signaling properly. Aside from a relatively weak whistle the rest works as designed.

Neat little backup gizmo Reviewed by Steve C. on Apr 26, 2015   4 out of 5

Would I use this as a primary? No. But as a backup device to a compass, fire starter, signaling device and light it is pretty good and worth the $10. It is compact and stuffs great in a small pocket.

Really Neat Gadget ! Reviewed by Bob G on Apr 16, 2015   5 out of 5

This little compact, light weight, gadget has ten different tools that can really help out. Monitor temperature and humidity. Use the signal mirror or whistle for signalling. A bubble level to make sure the compass is accurate. A magnifying glass and fire starter to get some heat. Have I left anything out? Probably. Can't beat it for the price.

pleasant surprise! Reviewed by gray miles on Oct 07, 2014   4 out of 5

Ordered two of these. Everything worked well. Compass is on, fire starter sparks, light is enough. Needless to say, this is an emergency tool, not a pocket bug out bag. Wish it floated, as I lost one when my canoe flipped! If I could retrieve it, I bet the hygrometer is pegged out 100% Maybe I'll pack the other one in a watertight bag, along with enough smart pills to keep my boat afloat!

It Works, thats About It Reviewed by Joe on Aug 04, 2014   3 out of 5

I got this for a survival/camping kit. I was a little disappointed. Like my headline says, its works and that's about it. Its not impressive, its not that durable, the parts are tiny and could be easily lost.....that said, it does do what it says it will do.....don't recommend for a primary, but it makes a good back up.

good for price Reviewed by Matt on Nov 26, 2013   4 out of 5

very impressed with this little compass. its not perfect at anything it does but it does it all to an exeptable level. the flint sparks most of the time and when it does it sparks well. the thermometer is ten degrees off but its consistently ten degrees of so just do some math. whistle works but isn't very loud. compass is accurate but sticks a bit. hydrometer could be perfect, I have no way of testing it. light and mirror both are fine. all in all im happy with it for the 5 bucks I paid for it

ok Reviewed by andrew on Nov 13, 2013   3 out of 5

i like the compass and the thermo and hygro meters but the flint wouldnt spark and the led light came dead

Handy Reviewed by Josh on Oct 23, 2013   4 out of 5

Bought two of these for a BOGO sale. The only flaws I could find is that one of their flint and steel wouldn't create a spark, the other one would spark and easily at that. The other flaw is, is once you close it up, the compass malfunctions and doesn't point you in your true direction (seems to be a problem with the mirror?) Even with the bad, it's a handy tool to have and it feels like a good purchase.

good to have Reviewed by Jerry McCormick on Oct 21, 2013   4 out of 5

Compass works well, all pieces in kit function good thing to have

A handy survival/everyday tool Reviewed by Capt. Walt O. on Oct 14, 2013   4 out of 5

I tested this out on our "back 40" (860+ acres of meadows, riparian habitat and woods) and found the compass to be accurate, the hygro to be useful for humidity, and the thermometer handy. The other features were also handy for the little things that one finds one needing in the field.
