These days trust is a word no longer familiar to daily vocabulary. Criminals are evolving younger, meaner, and more devious than ever before. Therefore, protecting the safety of your surroundings should be a priority.

Needs sheath Reviewed by Eric Gardner on May 17, 2016   5 out of 5

This is a copy of the East German SIPO baton. It's great. But it doesn't fit well in the pocket. It lurches to the side of the pocket and makes it look like you have a long piece of steel in your pocket. It would benefit from a sheath. that would fit flush in the pocket.

It's alright... It won't lock open.

Flex Impact Baton Reviewed by Russ S on Mar 01, 2015   4 out of 5

I searched BudK's site for this exact baton BECAUSE it's flexible; because I want this thing to wrap around whatever I'm going to hit with it. This is a medium weight collapsible spring type baton that will wield a less than lethal blow to whatever you smack with it. I'd keep this in the front of the pack as a first defense strategy, in case some dummy decided to try something stupid where lethal force isn't warranted. Don't get me wrong, this baton will put a person out if used right, so don't try it on your dog or not-so-best friend! It will hurt, most likely leave a mark. it's true a flick of the wrist deploys this baton, and tapping on the palm of my hand collapses it again. I have 3 batons now, one is solid, 2 are spring type, like this one. I always seem to have lockup problems with the solid one, even when I lube it. So far I haven't used it in any emergency situation, and hope I never need to. But I will find a holster, and lubricate it so it will be smooth operating when I do need it. Bottom line; it's not too big or small, it does snap into and out of place well, it's a spring type baton and it will defend anyone who bothers to do a little practice with it. there is no sheath supplied with this baton, and no lanyard hole.

Came broken Reviewed by SteveC on Jun 24, 2014   1 out of 5

It came bent up. I'm not sure if it was damaged in-transit or was defective before being packaged. Looked kick butt though

Great Melon Thumper Reviewed by Sean Maloney on Nov 06, 2013   5 out of 5

Great collapsing baton. A flick of the wrist extends the two spring sections quickly. I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of a swing from this thing! The springs wrap around what ever the baton connects with issuing more than a small contact area than all steel batons. Easy retrieval is accomplished by tapping the tip of the baton on a solid surface. I had an ASP issued for a NATO mission years ago in the military and this is as good or better because of its flexibility. The only thing that would make it better would be a sheath carrier included. Otherwise, I highly recommend this baton.

BUDK Self Defense Impact Baton Reviewed by Ian Mac on Sep 17, 2013   4 out of 5

Well, it's pretty obvious from the video and the various comments that a few lessons in the how-to of stick-fighting would be appropriate. I owned a spring impact baton about 15 years ago and I can tell you that traditional stick arts DON'T apply. You've got to follow through just like you would with a sjambok. I've cut through 2'x 4's with the right technique. It's not a billy club or a bat. Proper training can be the difference between life and death. 'Nuff said.
