Designed by a country boy from America's heartland and proudly made in the USA, the KA-BAR "Turok" Fixed Blade Knife is literally an “American dream” with a blade. Razor sharp and reliable, it’s great for everyday cutting jobs, but the Turok’s stout construction and versatile size makes it especially well suited to the challenging, ever-changing conditions of back country adventures. That’s surely what designer Jesse Jarosz had in mind, recalling his days hunting, fishing, trapping and generally enjoying the great outdoors in the Nebraska wilderness, where he grew up. The Turok boasts a hefty 6 1/4" drop point blade forged from 1095 Cro-Van steel, as well as a textured brown handle made with exceptionally durable yet lightweight Ultramid. Jarosz's winged maker’s mark is stamped into the handle between the sturdy steel rivets. At 11 1/2" long overall, the Turok is amply sized for practically any task you throw at it, yet it’s easy to transport - especially with the included Celcon sheath and handy lanyard ring. The Turok represents one of KA-BAR's first joint ventures with Jarosz Knives, but it's far from designer Jesse’s first rodeo. Growing up on acreage in the Nebraska countryside, Jarosz often helped his father with woodworking and construction. Like generations of his family before him, the young Jesse developed a genuine passion and knack for working with his hands. Having access to his father's tools, he was always building or tinkering with something in his free time. Loving knives and building things since he was a small child, it was just a matter of time before Jarosz combined the two, making his first knife well before his 18th birthday. Driven by a strong work ethic instilled in him by his family, Jarosz began crafting custom high-end knives soon thereafter, eventually founding Jarosz Knives. KA-BAR is proud to add Jesse to their roster of skilled custom knife designers.
