Product Description
M48 is proud to offer the ultimate tactical shovel - a multitalented field tool that cuts, chops, saws, digs and even fends off attackers! Built to withstand vigorous use in punishing conditions, it features a cast stainless steel head - tempered for strength and flexibility and black oxide coated for exceptional corrosion resistance. Each edge is uniquely shaped and sharpened for maximum cutting versatility; concave beveling on one side yields potent chopping power, while serrations on the opposite edge make quick work of sawing jobs. The edges converge to a form a bitter, penetrating point. Like the head, the Tactical Shovel's handle is virtually indestructible, made of advanced glass-fiber-reinforced nylon. Perfect for camping and other outdoor activities, light chopping or even emergency self-defense!
A very handy piece of gear for your camping / survival kit. It's reminiscent of the cold steel spetnaz shovel. I keep this in my car tool kit for either chopping or knee level digging projects.

M48 Tac Shovel
This is a great product like many that I have received from BudK. I have beat the crap out of this thing against trees and dug surprisingly deep holes in a matter of minutes. This shovel is amazing and I strapped right next to my M48 Tomahawk on my Tactical Bug Out bag.

Best Tactical Shovel Out There
One of the best purchases I have made for my Bug Out Bag, hands down! The only way to describe this shovel would be BAD A$$. The compact size is perfect and it seems like it is very durable and could handle a lot.

The best shovel you can get!
I really love the feel and grip. I'm also happy that it doesn't collapse like most survival shovels do, so I don't have to worry about it doing so by accident. You can chop down small branches with it too! It's a must have!

SHOVEL
GREAT SHOVEL TO WORK AROUND THE HOUSE. USED IT IN THE FLOWER BEDS AND WAS HANDIER THAN A REGULAR SHOVEL. USED IT AT THE HUNTING CAMP AND CLEARED SEVERAL FIRING LANES. RECOMMEND TO ALL FOR GREAT ALL-AROUND WORK TOOL.

Great Product
This is a great product. Light weight but still heavy duty. Great for a hiking bag. I own most of the M48 gear and have been very impressed. When used within it's means, this is one versatile tool. No hiking bag would be complete with out it.

Sweet
This is one sweet shovel! Although I would say this is more suitable for lopping the heads off of zombies than for digging foxholes, but it's nice that it will do both! I've been very pleased with the M-48 line so far, now I just need that spear! In short, buy it, you won't regret it!

United Quality
I have thus far purchased three items from United Cutlery through BudK. A Dragon Fly Katana, the M48 tomahawk, and the M48 shovel. So far all of these products work very well. I have a Cold Steel Spetznaz Shovel and comparing it to the M48 is almost laughable (although I got the Cold steel shovel for half of the price). The M48 shovel digs well (for its size), chops very well, throws well, and I imagine it would do very well as a self defense tool. A few negative points are, the sheath is not MOLLE compatible, the sheath only has Velcro closers and no snaps, and I do not particularly care for the serrations on the one side. All in all a fantastic purchase and well worth the price.

Better get a shovel...
...cause your in deep sh*t! And this would be the shovel I'd want for said sh*t!

wow
Is it worth $40? I don't know. But the spear,ax,tomahawk, and warhammer are definitely worth their weight in gold. When I got the tomahawk out of the package I took it in the basement for a test on a dry-treated-2"X6"X24" piece. Against grain cut with angry swing from above head to floor, the hawk went almost 1/2 way through. Maybe a 1/4" short. The ax,hawk,& spear are 1/32nd of an inch short of being 1/2 an inch thick. So, without having the shovel in my hand, I would take an educated guess and say that the shovel (E-tool)is great quality. If I do get another check that I don't expect, I'll be buying all 5 of the M48 TAC items. They altogether lighten my ruck load by almost 30lbs. I wouldn't have to carry an extra larger shovel,pick-ax, or 12lb sledge hammer. I know; Nice. Pete "Your greatest weapon is your enemy's mind" Buddha

Powerful
This weapon I like a lot, it has a very good feel to it as well as great grip. I've ordered a shovel before that wasn't too great but this 1 is better. The blade itself is a bit smaller then I'd like but to me it feel like I'm swinging a smaller axe. This weapon hits very hard which so what I like most.

Good But To Small
It is good quality, but my true Army Issue trifold shovel is the size you want to be functional in a real world survival situation. The trifold chops much faster, digs much faster, the case is rubber with snaps and is ALICE and MOLLE compatible. Its just heavier thats my only complaint. The M 48 is nice to have around for playing around but its not on my pack. If you can get an original goverment issue like mine, get it. if you cant this is much better then the Glock shovel and the cheaper immitation trifold shovels out there.

Swiss Army Knife Shovel
I took this out on a camping and hiking trip last weekend with some friends and tried it out. As a camp axe, it did ok. We were chopping at some larger trees and it took quite a bit of effort to hack through them. Smaller branches and trees might be better suited to the task. Out of the box, it is quite sharp and maintained an edge better than expected. I would not want to use it as my primary cutting tool in place of a proper axe or hatchet, but as a Swiss Army Knife of shovels, it did perform well. I did not have the chance to dig a hole with it, but think it would perform as well as any other field type shovel, such as the Army entrenching tool or the Glock shovel. The handle is quite comfortable and the design makes it easy to keep a grip on it. Overall, a good tool for a good price.

Looks OK
Short and sharp. Have not used it yet, but I am sure it will be sturdier than the take apart e-tools I currently have. It would be more fonctional if the belt loops had snaps so it could attached to molle gear.
