This M48® Survival Spear from United® Cutlery measures in at a whopping 44 1/8” from end to end, featuring a razor-sharp 8” blade that is nearly half an inch thick! With a stainless steel blade this powerful, this spear was built for durability and strong use. Practical applications abound with this massive spear, including uses such as breaching, prying, and impaling practically anything. The handle is meticulously crafted of 30% fiberglass in the design of a cane, and is nearly indestructible. Includes rubber sheath.

Just my luck! From reading the other reviews I must have received the only one that missed getting sharpen at the factory. But other than that seems to be a pretty well made spear. I do wish that you could buy more handles of different lengths so you you custom set it up for whatever you needed it for at the time. DanWould you recommend this to a friend? Yes

Man this thing is great. The blade is extra thick and sharp. The handle is very rugged. I have to agree with everyone else. I wish it was a foot longer. But other than that, well worth the money.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

I bought the M-48 Hawk and am going to buy this spear too but I'm going to add an extension to the spear by drilling a hole in the end after removing that 1/2 inch smaller section and inserting a threaded fitting and getting a comparably sized piece of poly rod and drilling a hole in that end and inserting a bolt in the end and epoxy the pieces in so I can screw and unscrew the pieces together when I want a longer spear for throwing. Similar to a cane that can be unscrewed into 3 pieces,except this will only be two pieces.Hope this gives some people some ideas to lengthen their spears.
