This is honestly one of the best ideas I've heard of. Great EDC (every day carry) item. I bought ten of them (even though one will last you a lifetime) and use them all the time. They are great gifts. It does not come with lighter fluid, but that is really inexpensive and can be found at your local smoke shop. Very impressed. It is a sure fire way to start a fire anywhere. Only complaint is that if you let the fire burn too long, the wick will start to burn, but surely in a survival situation that won't matter. Wick is about 2 inches long (using less than a centimeter for lighting) and easy to replace. Worth every penny.
Havent had the chance to try it yet. It came completely empty. Went to Walmart to get a can of butane, and they were out. Got it today and no telling when i will get to try it. 4 Stars though for the great construction and light weight. Cant wait to use it. BudK 4 Life!! :)
I have bought several of these lighters and have had great results from them. I am a plumber and use them to melt my flux in the winter and light some of my flex torches, it works great. It also lights in heavy winds if you have it set right. Use the very best butane, "not cheap stuff it won't work" and you will have great results.
I had a collection of Harley-Davidson Zippo lighters until my granddaughter snatched them from me (she collects lighters) so I bought this set of four and was so pleased with them that I am ordering another set for my granddaughter's collection, she'll love them! Great lighters for the money and they look identical to a Zippo and the outside design is really great and solidly attached to the case and stands out nicely. They look expensive! No way you can go wrong with this deal unless you have a kid that collects lighters, lol.
This lighter was by far my favorite Zippo I ever owned. I have collected various lighters for many years and Zippo has always been the 'workhorse' lighter I keep going back to. Zippo means quality, but the Spectrum coloring was very interesting and didn't 'wear off' like many finishes of other lighters (including some Zippo 'painted' lighters). I dropped it between some deck boards and when I got a chance to crawl under the deck (several weeks later), it was no where to be found... Only thing we can think of is some critter thought the colors were cool enough to snag my lighter.. This is the first time I've ever seen this same lighter listed anywhere.. including the Zippo site.. I'll be placing an order for this one soon...
