Honing your sword fighting skills with real sharp metal swords is probably not the best idea. While lessons learned from a sharp blade aren't soon forgotten, it is always best to conduct sword scrimmages with wooden or foam swords. You are less likely to harm each other with these non-lethal options.
Foam Practice SwordsFoam practice swords are great for learning to sword fight. They are rigid enough to have the same length and feel of real swords, but soft and forgiving when you hit each other with. |

Wooden Practice Sword SetWooden practice swords are a step above the foam sword set. These swords offer almost the same weight and feel as real metal swords, but lack the ability to slice. They still hurt when hit with in practice so these aren't recommended for the inexperienced. |
