i found this bow to be very difficult to string without a stringer. also with the string it was more complicated. I had two of my friends help me to put the string on with TONS of effort but after that the crossboy is great it is very powerful, and basically accurate.Would you recommend this to a friend? No

works good, but when and if you buy this one. you may have to buy a crossbow scope mount so you can put scopes on it. i bought a separate scope mount and she works like a pretty much perfectly.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

I am new to using a crossbow and like some of the others did not want to pay a lot of money to try it. This crossbow is well worth the money. Seems to be accurate and plenty of power.I have it sighted without a scope and can shoot a consistent tight pattern. Safety is hard to disengage and trigger is stiff. Arrows that come with it are very short (15") and flimsy, bent them almost right away. I am using 18" composites now and pleased. Can't beat it for $80.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

I picked this up because I wanted to try archery hunting and everywhere else I looked a crossbow was 300 dollars or more and I did not want to tie that much up into it just to see if I liked the sport. The crossbow works great and once a scope was added it shoots a 4 inch group at 50 yards.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

I bought the 150 lb. Avalanche bow and put a 4X scope on it. Had it sighted at 25 yards with great accuracy. I am an avid bowhunter but never used a crossbow before. I decided to take it out deer hunting. Using 2216 arrows with 125 gr broadheads, I shot two deer both at around 20 yards. the arrows went through the deer. Both ran less than 50 yards before they dropped. This is a cheap way to hunt.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

Reviewed by Hannibal from Southwest Desert on 19-Feb-2013Great Bow for a Great Price
Rating5 star5
I purchased this bow a few years ago and its still going strong. I prefer the Avalanche bows as they are more basic and simple to replace and fabricate parts for.For instance the prod or bow portion of the crossbow can be replaced by most bow companies or even manufactured in a machine shop if you have access to one. With a little bow wax this groups very well when firing (within 5-8 inches when sighted properly), even more so with a decent scope or even reflex sight. Though you will get a work out cocking it, but nothing wrong with a little upper body beef up now is there? Its relatively quiet, especially properly maintained but does exude a small kick but nothing near a firearm. This bow is even powerful enough to take down average game, such as deer, pig, rabbits, or even a zombie for all you Daryl fans out there. The one downside to this bow if any at all is the bolts it comes with. I use them for target practice as they tend to be "off" sometimes, and i would strongly suggest getting longer bolts/arrows for this as its worth the investment. Ive used mine to hunt small game with razor arrow heads and it does the job quite All in all this bow can stand toe to toe with the pricey compound bows from Barnett for a fraction of the price, and are far easier to replace parts and repair/maintain. This bow has earned its place with my bug out gear.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes
