A couple weeks ago I needed to chop down a tree so I used this knife and it's still sharp to this day. I've had it for over a year now and I could shave with it- it's that sharp... I had to sharpen it to get there, but once you do this is comparable to a KA-BAR for a fraction of the cost. Maintain it and this will be the best knife you own.

This knife is excellent, I carry mine with me as part of my EDC along with my pistol. You won't be disappointed. Arrived very sharp and sheath is durable enough for EDC, (every day carry) if you are wondering. All and all 5 stars, Budk is great!

I ordered one of these knives during a $10 dollar sale. I had read a lot of reviews that were very critical of these. Seemed like most of the complaints seemed to be about the bolster pins falling out. When mine arrived, everything seemed well put together and tight. Just to be on the safe side, I filled the openings in the bolster with crazy glue, till no more would soak in. It is a very nice looking knife and arrived reasonably sharp. I sharpened it up the rest of the way very quickly. I have an original Kabar knife, and this knock off looks much like it. The sheath seems sturdy enough (surprisingly so for such a low price). If it falls apart, I may replace it with a replacement Kabar sheath. All in all, it seems to be a great value for the money.

Very nice knife. I ordered two knives both very good. The blade gets razor sharp. Great knife to carry on you or to add to your collection. One of the BEST and COOLEST knives I have.

Very nice sheath. Better than what was expected. The knife takes a edge well. I have hit it against wood and chopped it up and it retained an edge. I mostly have used it for cutting bailer twine so i haven't really abused it like my other knives but will go in the woods and try it out some. I have not tried the stone but i did use a regular sharpener. I got it almost razor sharp. I give this five stars.

No, it's not a Ka-Bar. It's not $80+ either. I just ordered another two. I own a genuine Ka-Bar. Nice knife. So nice I don't want to abuse it. But BUDK's 1942 knife above is a solid 5 stars. I'll tell you what I received: A real leather sheath. I'm in Texas, there's cattle outside, I know leather from plastic. It smells and tastes like leather (see what I will do for you guys?). The sheath itself is well worth the price I paid for the knife. The Knife: A good knife. 420A stainless steel, full tang, standard rat tail. Handle. Stacked leather discs, epoxied/glued. SOP. The black grooves on the handle do seem to be some type of plastic. Doesn't hurt a thing. So if you'd like a Genuine Ka-Bar buy one right here on BUDK item # KB1217 for $83.99. But if you want a really good budget knife to stomp around with and abuse, buy this. I did. Twice.

The knife is very nice, if you don't want to spend a lot of money on an actual kabar then this is the knife for you. My only beef, is that the handle isn't leather. It's wood.

Talk about memories! This may be a replica, but, it is just like the one I carried around in the boonies of Nam back in 1970. The Nam knife saved my bacon on numerous occasions and the one I got from Bud-K will take a place of honor in my collection. It is well made and I am extremely happy with it and will definitely be placing more orders with Bud-K. Remember, any day you wake up alive has got to be a great day.

What a value!! Got this knife for only $10 during a free shipping promo. Excellent quality knife surpassed all my expectations. Looks and feels just like a Marine Ka Bar but without the price tag. The sheath is fine; no complaints here although I'll probably never use the sharpening stone. Gonna throw one in my bug out bag and one in my home emergency kit. Sure beats the cheap survival knife that I almost bought with a hollow handle. I like that this knife has a full tang and I can batton it if needed to split wood for an emergency fire.

i purchased two of these kbar clones and the are fantastic . i tighten up the handles on them they were a little rattliy . put an edge on them ,and stuck them in a kbar sheath . you can't tell the difference (untill you take it out of the sheath) . i have a couple buddies i shoot with who covent my kbar . so i turned them onto these . they loved em . $10.00 per knife $10.00 per genuine kbar sheath . they helped me put a roof on my house . that was the most labor $40.00 ever bought ,,, so thank you budk for my new roof ... that's what i'm talkin bout .

The subject knife is an excellent value; however, it is not a KA-BAR. I carried a KA-BAR for several years in the 60's and still have it. While the subject knife is similar, I purchased two of them for my nephews and they are quite satisfied with them but have replaced the sheaths.

i bought this knife about 2 weeks ago, and its fantastic (for the price). sharpened to razor quality in about half an hour. its size definitely turned heads and started a few good conversations. the stone it came with is good enough, but not a finishing edge stone. the knife, in short (which it is not), this is a great knife and i would buy it again. the sheath on the other hand isnt nearly as good as it is description says. ive brought it into the field and woods more than a few times, and the "durable leather" has ripped just below the hilt, and the strap that holds the knife in place is almost to short, and the fastener ripped out of the belt loop. i would give this knife a 4.5 rating, i like that it comes with a decent stone, but the sheath is weaker than advertised, so overall its a 4.

Ordered two of these and both had loose handles and the pin fell out of one and the handle came off. I pushed the point into a block of wood to put the handle back in place and insert the pin. Used a whole bottle of Crazy Glue on all the loose places to tighten them up. They seem to be holding together OK and I consider them good to use. I checked the blades with some instant blue and it didn't do anything, proving to myself that they are stainless as advertised. I recommend these if you don't mind the hassle of super gluing the handles and guards.

I've been looking at Ka-Bars for a while but the price was prohibitive for no more than I use a large blade. This knife was perfect in all respects. Good heft, has a beefy feel and appearance. Appears to be made solidly made--great knife for the price! I was disappointed with the sheath, I am not a fan of the so-called faux leather sheaths. Give this knife a leather sheath and this becomes a first-class knife for field use!

I wanted a new knife to set next to the one my dad carried in WW2 and this knife does the job well. Excellent price.

I've been lookin for a knife like under $80 bucks for a while. I am seriously satisfied though the hand guard is a little wobbly and the sheath is a tad lackin. but overall it is a very good knife that easy to wield and use.

K-bars is the standard to be compared to but some of us can't afford the "real deal". As a second choice this will work fine. I have read other reviews that did not like this knife but mine was all that I expected it to be. I wish that they will put the knife out with a Tanto type tip in the future.

Not a Ka-Bar. It is a replica. Mine came solid. It was nice and sharp. The sheath is fair and comes with a sharpening stone. For most simple chores I have used it for, it does well.

This knife is a good deal for the money. The blade seems sturdy and it took a good edge. I did have to replace the pin that holds the pommel on with a screw since it fell out almost immediately upon opening the package. It's totally worth the $10 that I paid for it, but I'll def save up and get a real Ka-Bar.

This is a piece of crap I got it and used it around the house and the snow is completely gone today so I took it outside and went to stick it in a tree and the handle and blade completely separated.

I acquired this replica for the sole purpose of using the stacked leather handle parts to restore my late U.S. Marine uncle's WW II KaBar kife. His knife's handle rotted due to outdoor storage for many years. Upon taking it apart I found that all of the 'black' parts of the 'stacked leather handle' are in fact a plastic material. As such, my project has hit a brick wall.

Looks good until i picked it up out of box pommel pin was missing. pommel had been glued back on slight tug it popped off blade has been touched up with non matching gloss black paint in several spots. cheap knife i know but a handle glued on and then shipped out to customer! i gave more than most paid over $20.00 with shipping. Not Good!

Sheath is not leather as advertised. It is plasticized foam. First time I put knife in sheath, the blade cut the sheath and ruined it. The pommel is soft plastic and was loose. It may look good, but is useless as a real knife that will be used in the real world. Either charge more for it and improve the quality, or do not advertise it being something it is not!

Replica my a**! I was pumped when it came in the mail. I opened the box and the knife came out in FOUR PIECES. The pommel wasn't even attached to the knife. The pin that is to attach the pommel and "PLASTIC" spacer was too small to retain them. I purchased it off one of their free shipping emails for $10. The Blade is great! The handle not so much. The description states " dependability that Marines rely upon." NOT. Oh and also" Includes a black leather sheath" No it does not include a black LEATHER sheath. The sheath is a bonded vinyl and foam. NOT ONE PIECE IS LEATHER in it's construction. Yes I understand I purchased an inexpensive knife. But it isn't a replica exact copy or reproduction. I would ask for a refund however it would cost $10 just to return it. Live and learn. Do one thing if you buy anything from Budk pay the DOLLAR for the insurance. They sell the Insurance because the know that they will be having to reship some of what you purchase.
