With its cutting edge ball bearing opening mechanism, state-of-the-art materials and innovative design, the Contender Axion Pocket Knife performs toe-to-toe with some of the most expensive folders on the market - at a price that's well within reach of the average consumer. It tackles the toughest jobs in the harshest conditions with potency and grace. From everyday cutting tasks around the home or farm to rigorous chores in remote back country, there's no job and no environment off limits to the Axion. The outstanding folder is built for vigorous use over the long haul. Just a flick of the wrist and a nudge of the flipper is all it takes to deploy the Axion's distinctive 3 1/2" straight back blade - forged from exceptionally resilient D2 stainless steel with an edge that's carefully honed to razor sharp. Thanks to its advanced precision-engineered ball bearing mechanics, the sleek, stylishly beveled blade opens with a fluidity and velvety smoothness that's second-to-none. Once open, the sturdy liner lock keeps the blade firmly fixed in position for added safety and stability during use. The Axion's handle is made of G10 - an innovative, extraordinarily durable synthetic that allows for a slim profile and lightweight feel without sacrificing strength. The handle is finely textured for a no-slip grip and ergonomically contoured; add the Axion's impeccable balance and weight distribution, and the result is a folder with a hand-feel that's simply unrivaled. Finished in striking iridescent blue titanium, a grooved steel handle insert beautifully offsets the rich black of the G10. There's no question - the Axion is truly a stunner in both looks and performance. At 5" closed, it's comfortably sized for everyday carry and stays secure with the integrated steel pocket clip. Make no mistake - the Axion is a premium knife built for serious use. Thankfully, however, the surprisingly affordable folder doesn't come with a premium price tag to match. Why pay more? The Contender Axion boasts everything you want in a top-shelf pocket knife. From the everyday to the extreme and everything in between, Contender knives don't just contend - they conquer.

Best value flipper Reviewed by Kalvin Hagan on Jul 22, 2018   4 out of 5

If you're looking for a smooth flipper this is it. I couldn't be more happy with the action of this knife. The fit an finish is about on par with the price with the exception of the blade being more of a value than the price reflects. The blade grinds are great, it came ultra sharp. I'm a knife guy(spent hundreds on a single knife multiple times) so I know exactly what I'm looking for in a knife. I can tell you honestly that I really like this knife, for its price there is nothing that beats it as far as flipping action goes. The only thing I will want to change is the g10 needs to be chamfered around the edges it is quite sharp/unfinished. The flipper tab also needs some jimping. Those are my two gripes. There are other flaws but I'm not going to exploit them because this knife's retail value is amazing.

Just buy it! Reviewed by Matthew Caples on Jul 03, 2018   4 out of 5

If you are a knife nut. If you wanna test out the general design of a high end, well known, knife. Just buy this one. The price is amazing.

Very sharp Reviewed by Douglas Polk on Jun 21, 2018   4 out of 5

Nice D2 blade, came sharp and with very little touch-up, I made the blade to my liking. The edge is holding up very well. The G10 handle took some tome to get comfortable in my hand...all in all, a good value
