Idis is a well built sword. Blade came sharp. But can be sharpened to shave. I intend to use it only as a showpiece only. But considering its quality I think it could be used for real Combat. I used a ceramic stick to bring the edge up to shaving sharpness .Be careful when sharpening the Finish is so nice you couldn't easily scratch it. Butt if you do use some fine crocus cloth and lightly polish out the scratches. Then you some polishing cream which can be found at Parts houses for polishing metal. I can only say that the Japanese people who used the sword to defend them selves had to be battle-hardened people. I can see one of these swords could could inflict serious damage to a person. For the price and quality I would recommend this sword. It's a nice piece to add to your collection. But I keep mine locked up in my gun vault because of its razor sharp edge. I do consider it a weapon.
Nice sward for the money. It came sharp. Keep in mind swards can't be razors. They will chip. The sward is very nice looking. Handle with Ray skin is well assembled. This is my first sward. I don't have any comlants. The blade has a very high gloss finish. I wish I would have had my wife's name a ring and my Name put on it. It's worth the money.
I have a wide collection of knives I have purchased or received from family hand downs. I decided to add a sword to the collection and went with this one. It is a Masahiro sword but had me worried my order had been messed up when it came in a Ten Ryu box. Maybe the two are tied together I am not sure. Either way upon opening the box my worry was put to rest. The sword came in a nice little cloth/nylon/silk type sheath or dust cover. The scabbard is wood and has a beautiful shine. The sword fits very well in the scabbard and is secure except for being able to hear the lower part of the blade rattle a bit as it hits the inside of the scabbard if shaken side to side. Nothing I am concerned about. The handle is very well put together and feels solid in the hand. The wrap and accents are pleasing to the eye. Upon pulling out the blade, it is as impressive as the rest of the sword. The laser etching along with the inscriptions on the blade are beautiful. The blade is not razor sharp but would not take much to hone it up as it is sharp. This was all just my initial overview. I wrapped it back up happy to add it to my collection and was very satisfied with my purchase. My son is already asking me how old he has to be before I would consider giving it to him. Thank you CH for another great experience.
Nice sword, sharp, everything is tight I love the leather wrapped handle I wish all my swords had leather wrapped handles they look better and feel better for grip and handling I really don't like cotton wrapped handles but what are you going to do My only complaint with this sword and most swords is weight Do they make swords that are lighter? I would definetly recommed I got this sword for less than half this four years ago or more Now I am really glad I got it.
it sucks...

ordered for a friend - delivery was quick! the sword is sharp, feels durable and the engravings are good eyecandy. comes with a holding bag which is a nice bonus
Excellent blade! Craftsmanship is impressive and shipping was fast.
All fittings are tight and of good quality. Engravings are nicely done and visible. Dragon tsuba is well made also. The sword fits snug in the saya.
The blade was sharp right out of the box. After a few strokes with my honing steel the blade was nearly razor sharp. This blade goes through bottles of water cleanly and with ease.
Excellent value for the price overall!

Thank you TrueSwords!
I plan to stick with TrueSwords for future purchases because their products are of excellent quality for the price and they offer excellent shipping and customer service.
I should start out by saying that this is my first sword i bought from true swords and i must say that i was very impressed and shocked about how beutiful the sword was and how its weight was overall even. I did notice something that was kind of a let down for me the dragon engraving was barley visible. The blade come sharp but not razor sharp. I am very grateful to true swords for such and awesome sword. Thank you true swords.
this is a very nice sword well made. it came sharp not shaving sharp but who is going to shave with this. i put it through a few test and will recommend it. testy one four layers of cardboard very good. then the two litter test went throw three in one cut. last test had a deer i got last night cleanly removed the head and flanks very well. this is a real sword and really works.
I'm on way home from work so this review is based on service and delivery. I ordered yesterday at 7am and was delivered at my house today witch is the next day so it took 27hrs from time of purchase which is unbelievable. Very very satisfied with service will be writing a review on sword after inspection and cut test. Oh and don't know if me living in North Carolina has anything to do with speed of delivery but Georgia is only like 6/8 hrs away so...
I ordered two of the Bushido Musashi Koga ninja-tos along with this Masahiro Dragon sword and though I am completely satisfied with the Musashi blades, the Masahiro is the picture of beauty, form and function.
I told my sixteen year old son that it shall be his on his eighteenth birthday and it brought a tear to his eye. Thank you TRUESWORDS for making dreams a reality.
awsome beat around sword, really sharp, handle is a lil loose, but its suppose to be so it can be taken apart for cleaning, the engraving was a little light on one side, but like i said, its a beat around sword, cool as heck.
This sword is amazing I can't find a thing wrong with it it come sharp but could be sharper but it's fine and it comes oiled it is also very balanced this sword overall is a good sword from experts to beginners I would definitely recommend this sword to anyone
This sword looks beautiful, Im impressed by the craftsmanship on this and I will definitely be back for more swords.
This sword is the best thing I've ever seen its super sharp the carvings on it are spectacular and you can't see it in the dark so that's more steathly
I just got mine today and am completely amazed. It arrived at my house in 2 days which I thought was pretty quick since I don't live anywhere near Georgia. The sword had excellent detail the scabbard was strong and the sword was secure when sheathed. The engravings were very clear, the sword extremely sharp. The swords blade was slightly shorter and heavier then i thought but it still has the capability of being an extremely agile and fast paced weapon. The oils on the sword are there for it's protection wiping it with a cloth or old 100% cotton shirt does the trick overall extremely satisfied with this sword the detail and craftsmanship are excellent will be buying more items from this site.
had mine for a while now it's the third strongest sword i have and it is great i don't put to much strain on it but if i had to use it it would be ready and willing. i give it a perfect 10 get this sword and more. p.s i think Masahiro swords are stronger than Musashi my opinion HAVE FUN and REEK HAVOK. MUUEHAHAHAHAHAHAAAaaaaa!!!!!!!!
I got this sword for x-mas and as soon as i took it out of the box i was blown away although its not true tamahagane steel the high carbon steel is strong i could not resist cutting a few trees with it and came to find i could cut trees as big as my leg down with one swing when they say extreamly sharp they mean it although i wouldnt suggest letting any of your friends who dont know what there doing cut trees because now my blade is extreamly bent but with gloves and proper leverage i was able to bend it back to a preatty close shape who cares this is now just a practice sword and i plan on getting many more from true sword great time with delivery guys and masahiro your swords are awsome though i would like to see you guys come out with a couple authentic tamahagane katanas
I just want to say thank you trueswords this blade is amazing the blade came razor sharp and free from any imperfections. The craftmanship is stunning, everything is tight nothing wiggles or moves at all and at 90 bucks I am very pleased.
The absolute best sword I have ever purchased!!!!! A little hard out of the stuba but thats no problem and I got a masahiro holder with it to(I did buy it) and it's for a low price for it's quality and the blade is razor sharp so be careful. But anyways put two awesome swords together and you get this great, sharp, quality sword, buy it!
A great sword, very sharp, too. Just how I like it. Very well crafted and best quality sword I have.
Given the price and the fact that this is my first order from trueswords....I am absolutely blown away by the quality of this piece...after taking it apart and cleaning it and putting it back together...it felt wonderful...first sword that i have owned that felt like a real sword....and the fact that its a ninja-to is just a huge bonus...Hamon is acid etched but short of sword fighting which is unlikely the hamon and lack of being folded steel are ok....nice weight great feel and cut through 4 inches of rolled tatami mats in one swipe...very impressed with the quality for the price point....will be ordering a folded steel kill bill sword next....thanks for the great product...it has inspired me to seek out a kendo instructor in my town
I love living close to GA! Got it at my apartment in less than 24hrs with FedEx. This is my 6th full tang blade from Trueswords, and they never seem to disappoint. It came in perfect condition. The blade was thick, sharp, and straight (had a problem with a crooked blade from here once). Feels very solid. No nicks on blade or saya. Dragon etching could have been a little better, but not enough to keep me from giving this one a five.
this is my first sword from trueswords.com and i have to say i am quite pleazed with their customer service AND the sword. My first cut test went exceptionally well considering i have never swung a sword like this in my life. Went right through the 2 liter bottle, clean cut. Just like the ad says its razor sharp, i was able to thrust through the same bottle on the first try no problem, an acceptional sword for the price, and like i said, trueswords was on time with their order. If i ever buy another sword it will be through trueswords.
Thank You trueswords.
Another great product from true swords best product i have bought so far. i have bought training wooden swords, caltrops, a tanto and a ninja assassin ball chain and blade.
THIS IS THE BEST PRODUCT I HAVE BOUGHT,thank you true swords this product came in two days it came from georgia to south florida RAZOR SHARP.

if i could give this 10* i would.
got this sword razor sharp and perfect just like my Masahiro Shadow Warrior i love the engraving on both a must see to believe,to make a comment about an earlier post from someone this sword should have no blood grove it is a Ninja Sword, blood groves make noise that's why it's not there, very nice balance for a cutter also as it should be,a work of art for the price, great customer service as always,i'll be back for sure !!!
I bought this ninja sword a while ago and must say it is exquisite. It is the only Masahiro blade i've ever purchased and i am pretty impressed. I have several Musashi katanas and a couple United Black swords as well and this ninja sword has the best edge on all of them except for my damascus steel one. I have to say this is probably my favorite sword that I own and i have quite a few. I have to warn u it comes razor sharp straight out of the box and i cut myself on it within a few seconds because I underestimated the edge. Mine has never needed too little bit. The high carbon blade is very nice and shiny and the engravings give it even more character. The handle is wrapped in genuine leather and the hand guard weights the sword very nicely. I didn't mind the lack of a blood groove and if u want the copper tsuba and fuchiki to really shine u will need to polish them quite a bit. I didn't though because i like the way it looks black w/a slight gleam to it. This thing tops my recommendation list and if i could give it six stars i would!
very nice sword. thick and razor sharp. its pretty well balanced and the engravings look really good too. definitely worth buying.
Fast shipping, great sword, nice blade. i am very satisfied with my first sword purchase. thank you true swords!
This is my first sword from trueswords and i have to say i love it fast shipping sharp sword what more can you can ask for a must buy!!!
This was my first actual sword from trueswords.com. It is a VERY nice sword. not a bad weight at all, quite sharp. Very nice blade. one of the Dragon pieces is loose but, it stays in place and i could prolly superglue it or sumthin. Overall 5 ot of 5 for me.
Great sword for the money. I was very surprized to see how quick it got here. Must start off by saying I was impressed with the craftsmanship of the sword and scabord, the sharpness of the blade and the finish on the scabord. I've had other ninja-to's in the past and I would have to say.... this one is very good. especially for not being made in Japan.
Just got this sword. This sword is lighter than my others. Love how the blade is straight and the engravements on the blade. The grip when holding the sword is great and makes handeling the sword easy
Just got it today. I meet FedEx at the door. Very nice. Really sharp. Heavy blade with good clear markings. The black leather around the genuine Ray skin handle is tight. Very pleased, best Masahiro yet. Even better than white shadow....wow!! buy it quick.!!!
I got this sword a while ago and I really like it. Its much heavier than my Musashi so there's more effort needed to swing it. The few things I feel need to be addressed are these: The hand guard looks to be crooked but in reality the dragon design on it makes part of the guard thicker than the rest of it, secondly the scabbard is at first a near perfect fit bit after a few times it becomes loose, also because of the weight of the sword it would fall out if turned upside down. I remedied this by covering the brass piece between the blade and guard, don't recall what its called, with a strip of duck tape, I know it sounds a bit ugly looking but it works Electrical tape would work better and its black so it would blend. Over all the sword is fantastic well worth the money and it is very sturdy. Any one into swords that are functional will love this sword.
A phenomenal sword this sword has its own fierce personally with the dragon engraving and the dragon tsuba i love the copper habaki it just adds an interesting color to the sword
this was my first sword so its nice to use for backyard cutting(bottles, thin trees, ect.) and practicing my stance. only tip is you need to learn how to angle the blade, otherwise instead of cutting bottles the weight of the blade just launches bottles. a very good sword just takes a little getting used to.
For $90 its a good buy, the sword fits tight in the scabbard, the blade wasn't very sharp when I got it though. The dragon engraving was barely visible, while the other side was very well etched. The handle wrapping is tight and nicely done. I would go with a Musashi over a Masashiro any day though.
I just got this sword today & I absolutly LOVE it! the craftmanship & detail on the blade & guard are stunning & the blade itself is breath taking. The only drawbacks I can think of are that the sword is a little top heavy due to the thick blade & that it came coated in oil & a little bit of dirt which was an easy fix with a once over with a clean cloth. All in all a superb ninja-to.
Everything is absolute perfect except for a few things... When unsheathed for the first few times, it has wax all over it, and there were slight dents in the edge, but only noticeable if you are looking for them. other than that, its a perfect blade, but in the comments, please ask for them to do a thorough examination of the blade, making sure its straight, and doesn't wobble in the sheath, so you get a perfect sword, so yeah, due to the wax on it when unsheathed the first few times, and the slight dents, only noticeable if you look for them, its down 1 star, so my review is 4 stars, but if you plan on using this (high carbon steel isn't meant to be a display metal, due to the fact that it rusts easier) then it's a 5 star sword.. A MUST BUY!!!
This is an interesting sword. One one hand, it's poised, maneuverable, and heavy enough to really cut with. On the other hand, the blade on mine was not tempered and hardened, so one swing at a tree 3 in branch resulted in a sizable dent. If you're looking for a practice sword, this is great, but for actual sparing...not so much.
I received this sword and was initially pleased. I have always been pleased with Shinwa straight swords in the past. Although the blade was filthy, it was well balanced and weighted. The blade was not difficult to clean, although the engravings took a little work. However, while polishing the blade, I noticed the last two inches were very rough and uneven. Also, the tip itself was chipped. I attempted to sharped the roughness out of the edge, but there is nothing I can do about the chip. Disappointed because I would have liked this sword very much if not for that defect. Also, the handle wrap is a little weird, not the cord commonly used. It feels somewhat like faux leather and is strangely sticky. I can get used to that, but would have preferred a traditional wrap.
