Great deal. These can be modified to work with little skill. Not as good as newer gen goggles, but good enough for me.
They came quickly in good shape. Very good value for the price, you cannot find these for anywhere near this price and for 99$ free shipping, can't be beat. They are repeatedly advertised as nonfunctional, but mine work like a charm. All you need to do is get an oldschool incandescent light, get the included IR filters, and a 9v battery. Turn the transformer's mode on the bottom of the box on the back of the helmet, it's underneath a threaded cap, onto the 12v mode. Shoot the light through the filter in darkness, you'll see the infared light and see in the dark! If your NVG's don't make a ticking/clicking noise from the transformer box when exposed to a 9v battery on 12v mode, your thing is broken. Both tubes worked in my NVG, however the right side was more dull and hazier. Small black spots where on the tubes, i suspect damage from over the years. Mine where from 1969 with IR filters from 1968. Whatever you do, do not turn these on and expose them to light. Keep the black front cover on at all times unless it's very dark. For NVG's that technically work for 99$, you cannot beat this. I've already ordered some pieces from amazon like an IR illuminator, battery, switch, etc. Very cool item. also, these are Czech PNV-57A.
My goggles were pretty much exactly like the pictures. (They are czech not polish) The case was a little worn but not rusty. Goggles were basically like new and yes they worked! There is a video on YouTube by mikeb that goes over testing them.
