Product Description
This like-new German M65 Gas Mask helps to protect the face, eyes and respiratory system against chemicals and biological warfare agents that are used in the form of gases, vapors and aerosols. Note: Though these gas masks and filters may function as intended, they have likely exceeded their expiration dates and should be used at your own risk. Filter quality and packaging may vary.
The mask is good! The rubber is in good condition and there isn’t any dry rotted parts. The eye lenses are very scuffed up and scratched, and it’s slightly foggy looking out of them. Thats not bad though, the mask is old and there’s nothing you can really do to help that the mask is old. The mask smells old, obviously. The metal around the eye lenses and around the inhale/exhale valves has slight scratches and paint chipping, but that’s cool. I bought this mask for a post apocalyptic cosplay, and it fits what I was looking for.
But... the filter you receive, at least the one I received, is a completely different filter from the picture. It’s not a big deal because the filter more than likely has asbestos, so I’m using it as a shelf decoration. As well as that, the mask in the pictures have different defoggers than the mask I received has. Again, not a big deal. I did notice a weird, mold like substance growing in the side of the mask, but some cleaning wipes took it right off. Overall, the mask is good, and I recommend it. Just keep in mind that some things may be different when you actually receive your mask. Thanks BUDK!

Nice
I bought this with the Czech m10 and out of the two I prefer this one. I wear a size small helmet and this fits great, but there is no voice diaphragm. Over all my favorite mask so far.

A fairly decent mask. But!
This mask is nice, hands down. I have a very large collection of Gas Masks, and out of all of them, this one is, without a doubt, what I would put a brand new filter on, and wear if something happened. But, there is a single major flaw in it's design. The straps are extremely hard to adjust properly. It has the worse straps I have ever had to deal with. But that is the only real con to it. It has a very thick, heavy build. I feel like this thing could take a shot from a .22. The rubber is so, so thick. But, at the same time, is very comfortable! The rubber is a good couple millimeters, and strong. I could see someone using this for facial protection. Another problem I had, was the filter it came with was awful. It was completely useless. Unsealed, and 2 decades old. But the mask itself was in flawless condition. All it takes is a $50 filter, and you're safe. In the end, I would recommend, if you have the patience to handle horrid straps. If you want to buy this for protection, make sure the straps are ready prior. *Note, don't actually shoot it with a .22, that was a metaphor.

Good German mask.
Slight uneven discoloration of the lenses. Paint around lenses is chipped. Seals well but the German over engineered straps are not that easy to adjust. Mask seems small but fits my large face.

M65
Love mine, It did have a few chips of paint gone( from the filter hitting it I think) But it just looks better like that for what I wanted it for. I also know that these small chips are unavoidable so I am very very happy with it. Would buy it again if I needed a second.

Solid mask, even for its age.
I ordered this mask on a splurge, mainly because I always liked the idea of having a gas mask. The lenses have some permanent marks on them, but I can still look through them with no problems. Trying to open the filter case was a hassle, as I wasn't aware you had to cut it open, and I made the mistake of cutting it open vertically, instead of cutting along the rim on the side, but at least it was properly sealed when I got it. Straps are a little stubborn when trying to adjust them, but they hold firm when you do get them adjusted. The mask itself is very comfortable to wear, even for long durations, and the filter is easy to attach and detach.
My biggest gripe is I can't wear my glasses with the mask on (I'm nearsighted), but I understand why. Definitely a mask I would recommend.
