Trailblazer Aluminum Drinking Cups - Set of Two

I wrote my review in April in which I mentioned I would attempt cooking soup with these aluminum cups and I must say they work like a charm, first I tried boiling water in the cup with a simple super cat alcohol stove and it worked well. Just note that with what I used a red bottle of heet it made soot. I couldn't find any yellow heet so I used what I had. I made a simple lid for this cup from a 28 ounce fruit can and then I was able to cook ramen noodles (which only fit if you break the noodles in four halves. I've also cooked the Knorr 3.5 ounce Mexican style Sopa de fideo (Pasta soup) in these aluminum cups again using the improvised lid. I love these cups I may order more for my other hunting bags for the coming Autumn and Winter!

I bought a set of these aluminum Trail Blazer cups.. As it says in the description, the cups are made of STURDY ALUMINUM not steel. I know the vast majority of clients on ChKadels are responsible and sensible people. But every now and again I see reviews about products being treated in a way that would not help extend the life of their chosen product. With that said, these cups are sturdy aluminum but that does not mean you should beat them on hard surfaces or otherwise. I have been using one of these cups in my hunting bag which I take to work and use to drink my coffee, once by accident I dropped my cup onto the floor it made a small ding on the edge of the base of the cup. Nothing bad at all it still works fine (lesson, be careful) and I think they may actually hold more than 14 ounces. The cups are hot when you pour your coffee but they do cool fast so in a few minutes you can enjoy your cup of joe! They seem the perfect size for a personal cup of soup! I may experiment and see if I can boil some sopa in one of my aluminum cups! I will report more on this if I do decide to try this, my instinct tells me it should work well for this. Great cups, light weight and tough enough to handle the occasional clumsiness of this satisfied client.. I recommend these cups to a back packer or any outdoorsman who wants a cup but does not want their backpack weighed down any further.
