Full Tang Tanto Warrior Tactical Knife and Leather Sheath

I just bought three of these for $10 each with a great BudK discount. Although this isn't the best you can do for a tanto (the steel is AUS 6), with this discount it is great for a throwing knife. After at least 100 throws, there are no marks on the blade. Going to get three more when BudK does another mega discount!

After scouring the market for a tactical long knife to accompany an m48 hawk, I found it. I looked at blades like the Honshu wakizashi, or the CRKT hisshou. I chose this because it's way cheaper, Budk makes good knives, and (when it came in the mail) I was again pleasantly surprised by how much bang I got for the buck. For the money, this is a sturdy, full tang piece. It's hard to find a blade this long, at a price this good, that doesn't absolutely suck (even off ebay.) It fits comfortably in one's hand & the sheath is leather (compared to nylon, like most blades come with at this price) and it has a hole where you can strap it to your leg. The leather may not be the world's finest, and some may want the blade to be more razor sharp out of the box, but overall this purchased exceeded my expectations for durability. For 15 measly bucks, I thought I was getting a cheap display tanto, but instead got a functional keeper that I can keep sharp & use for multiple purposes. Will do more business in the future!

It was very sharp out of the box the blade was strong and thick but the sheath is weak compared to the blade. All in all it was a great mini sword!

This is a nice knife. No it isn't cold steal type but I didn't pay a days wage for it. You get what you pay for and in this one you get more than what you give. Not razor sharp but sharp. Happy with it. Thanks BudK

Great Large Tanto. Has a skull spike on the bottom. It is solid and razor sharp. Has a unique shape to it and is a great Tanto.

Smaller than I expected. But very sharp(it cut my finger with hardly any pressure) Durable, and beautiful. The sheath is durable, not cheap. For 10.99$ this blade is amazing. I'd say it's worth 50$ +. 5 Stars.

i havent recieved it but it looks good and from the reviews ive read makes it sound like the perfect blade to own and i think ima have to believe it even though i dont have it yet.

LOVING THIS BLADE! Perfect weight for its size, a couple of scratches but no big deal. Came sharpened and ready for use right out of the box! ^_^

Is it a really long knife, or a short sword? It's up to you, because it could qualify either way! The quality of this tanto is excellent, as would be expected from a Bud K. The grip is solid and the criss-cross pattern on it makes for a non-slip grip. The blade is thick, but comes honed razor sharp. It's balanced well, no rattles, & has a nice, solid feel to it, weighty enough to swing around while being light enough to hang from a belt or shoulder strap.<br /><br />But therein lies its only flaw; the sheath is somewhat cheapy, made out of soft vinyl instead of nylon, and first thing that happens when you put it on a belt or slip a shoulder-strap through it, is the not-reinforced slit begins to rip. I have quite a few Bud K knives as well as more than a few tantos, and every single one I own that came with vinyl sheaths have ripped at the belt loop. If only it'd come with a nylon sheath with a loop at the top, it would have been perfect! But for the price, you can't go wrong, and it makes up for the shoddy sheath, thereby making it a 5/5 in my opinion. <br /><br />In all, it's totally worth the price & makes a great addition to a ninja set-up, perhaps a second sword to your full-size tanto, as ninjas used a vast array of weapons & always carried a short sword as well, so they could work their assassination skills in confined quarters, if need be. Plus, the stealth flat black makes it nearly impossible to see in the dark! Be careful with this one, it aint no toy.

Just arrived today. Ordered two days ago. Awesome turn around.<br /><br />Both of the Tantos I ordered are not as sharp as I had expected, based on previous reviews. However, the blade does feel like it will easily take and hold an awesome razor sharpness. Easy to tell that they are full tang, and very heavy for their size. They are also larger than I had expected.<br /><br />Only downside is the sheath. Feels cheap, looks cheap. But functional.<br /><br />All in all, for the price, well worth the money.

great knife, i have to say its a BEAST. i can probably lop off an arm if im not careful!<br />the sheathe is sucky though. i only use the sheathe for storage 5/5

the tanto is very light and easy to control. also the price was very good. when i got it the edge was alittle dull.<br />the the tip of the blade was like really sharp and i pierced my hand while putting it back in the sheath.

I guess they read these reviews and take their advice. Mine came razor sharp. The only issue was the bottom of the sheath had a small tear where the tip of the tanto poked through. Great craftsmanship, beautiful tanto. Packaging could have been better, but I'll take what I can get for 11$.

This is very nicely built and worth way more than where it is priced. <br /><br />The ONLY complaint is it isn't so sharp, but what a great excuse to practice sharpening.

This Knife is definitely worth the money. It Is much heavier than I expected,and extremely solid. It came fairly sharp, and in my opinion, the sheath is actually quite nice. I could see there being problems with the belt loop or opening mechanism, but its high quality compared to most.

Solid knife. Handles well. Like they all say, the sheath is crap. It's like they used all the inside parts of the sheath on the outside too.

As it says the sheath is garbage. That's the only reason it didn't get a full 5 stars from me. This is one of those knifes that you can tell is good by just holding it. They obviously spent their effort making a decent knife and threw a cheap sheath on it. It's a little on the large side to be tactical. But it makes a good knife to carry in your car. Thee size really threw me off. The picture doesn't really represent the length of such a knife. It's a good complement to the Timber Wolf Full Tang Ninja Sword. If I don't carry that sword I usually have this knife. Both have very sturdy designs and are champs after a good sharpen and oiling.

The sword is pretty good, the sheath is absolutely horrible.<br /><br />The sword isn't the most sturdily built thing in the world, but for a 10 dollar sword, it is quite well made, I suppose. The blade is quite well made, and it's more the handle that bothers me. Hard plastice instead of fabric for the grip, and it doesn't appear to be very tightly secured to the blade, though I can't figure out why really. So far it's holding up fine, I suppose.<br /><br />The sheath is terrible. Not more than an hour out of the box and it's already falling apart. The securing system is a bit of velcro, and not nearly enough to hold the sword in place if you hold it upside down. The leather is fine, but all the rivets and seams come apart very quickly. Plan on getting a new sheath.

this is a very sturdy knife great for heavy use doesn’t misshape and holds a edge even under presser the only thing is the black pint comes off after much chopping however the sheath is almost no good my knife went through the bottom out of it and the belt strap broke

Was a good solid blade but couldn't cut through a bottle of water.

This was a cheaper alternative to some (I suspect) far superior Tantos. VERY Dull, and the plastic handle though "knurled", is still a bit slick/slippery. Would not buy again. Would spend more and hopefully get better quality. I was disappointed with this purchase.

If price is your mail concern, it works. I read earlier reviews knocking the sheath, it was worst than they let on. The blade was not very sharp either. If you are into Tanto you might bite but quality it is not. Delivery was right on!
