My Review
I am a person who will spend hours of time researching for quality gear. This showed up in the mystery box and man, it is by far the greatest machete I've got. I love it. It's intimidating and sharp. The hook has many good uses as well. It comes super sharp but a couple swipes of my cheap sharpener and it was a razor. Made quick work of anything I threw at it. I also tested it by lightly swinging it into a log and it went 3 1/2 inches with no effort. Love it. Pros: Lightweight, Cheap, Quality tool, No rattle in handle, No flex, Super sharp out of the box, Intimidating, Made in Columbia by a reputable company. Cons: No sheathe, Rings when you hit it on something (I personally like it)

I can imagine being chased through a Columbian jungle by a drug besotted Indian with this monster in his hand. Terifying! Then I remember I have 44 magnun on my hip. The Gavilan is awesum. Buy it.

BRUTAL
This thing is scary looking. I can imagine some druggedout Columbian wearing only a breach cloth and chasing me through the jungle wielding such a monster and me only armed with a 44 magnum. can you see the result? The machete is impressive and very thick and heavy. Really worth the money. BUY IT,GUYS. YOU WILL LOVE

better than long machete
Most people only consider the long narrow machete. Machete's don't need sharp points. But this type machete is far superior, especially for chopping. Short but wide--making it hefty and effective. 2mm thick (not 1/8 inch), but easy to sharpen. Wish it were 3 mm thick. Very versatile for close in work on thick vines and small saplings. Very rugged, full tang.

The real deal.
I bought a Gavilan machete about 25 years ago and it is the only machete that actually cuts stuff. I call it my lucky machete. I searched untill now to find who sells them. This is the real deal! Made in Columbia!

Weeeee
Weeeee! What a freakin' deal. This thing should have been $40. This is the best quality product i have ever purchased from budk, and it was far from the cheapest. Totally blown away.

Cool machete
Holy SH**T is what I said when I open the box to this machete! I have no problems with it except the greasy blade Its already sharpened like a razor and it's size is dependable. If this came with a sheath, it would be my personal favorite!

Cane machete
This this is very front heavy and the handle could use some grip tape. Very thin but durable. I wouldn't attempt to take out anything bigger than a standard thumb width branch, sapling or vine. A sheath would help also.

ace
Definitely roughly made I can see spending 5 bucks on this not much more though. Looks to be stamped out of thin sheet metal with a quickly ground edge on it. It is pretty wicked looking but it definitely needs a better edge put on it. Mine came quick, like usual from budk, but one half of the handle was broke off. Not a horrible purchase but I would go ahead and spend a few more dollars for a higher quality blade.

Ok but not great
Just got my Colombian Cane Machete was not impressed .Rings like a bell when you cut with it . Needs sharpened and has thin blade (maybe 1/8 inch thick) will be a good fishing machete but not much else .You can buy better from BudK for just a few more dollars . Not a great knife would not recommend spend a few more dollars and get something better .
