Product Description
This traditional Vietnam knife is the ultimate survival knife that doesn't cost a fortune. Pair this knife with the Vietnam Drop Point Survival Knife item 17 BK510 for the ultimate set!
Just wore as an accessory for Halloween but this isn't a toy. Fairly sharp, hit with stone or sharpener for your preference. Grips are good, not too hard, not spongy. Sheath gives the option to wear lower on leg with a removable Velcro strap or use the hard loop made into the sheath. Has rubber hold to secure knife at top but also snaps in at guard. This works ok, a little loose so use your rubber fastener if moving around a lot. Overall I really like this big boy and no significant complaints.

Good deal
I just got this Bowie today and got a little time to try it out and check over it. The size is fantastic of both the blade and the handle (which is very comfortable to grip). The sheath itself may be the only thing in my house to withstand a nuclear blast- it is tough! Holds the knife well. For under 15 buck I am VERY happy with this purchase.

Amazing
This knife is amazing, sharp, and durable, the handle is a little on the large side but for the size of the knife it should be expected. I bought this and the marine drop point knife while this isn't my favorite of the two its a great knife for all around use, the sheath is great too solid plastic and even comes with a rope to tie around your leg so it moves with your leg when you move, its an amazing buy and makes a great gift too. I probably will purchase more. Great knife BudK

Fantastic
Great knife, cuts through just about anything, the serrated part seemed a lot sharper than the straight edge, but i was able to sharpen the strait edge very easily. solid construction, and it even held up to some throwing, has enough weight to stun someone even if the blade isnt the impact point.

I like the smooth. clean look of this Vietnam Tanto knlfe It looks to be a close copy of my Cutco, but with a Tanto point. I did not like the rubber band secure it system. It was also not razor sharp out of the box. Those 2 reasons brought it down to 4 points. Otherwise, a fine knife at a Great price.

Great converted thrower
Converted 3 of these into throw ers by replacing the heavy butt plate with a split ring to hold the handle in place. This gave it an excellent balance for both no-spin and handle throws. I've hurled these beauties for 2 years without so much as a broken tip. The only drawback is that they are too pricey. Throwing weapons are ammunition not heirlooms. But when BudK puts them on the 2fer sale making them less than $7 then they are a super value. Happy throwing.

Good knifes for the money.
I bought this Vietnam War Serrated Tanto Knife & the drop point version. I feel the pair are worth $20. I now have both blade types for any situation in my tool bags. Good knifes for the money.

What I expected
This knife was exactly what I expected when I ordered it. It did come with a great sheath and I nice big handle which I like because my hands are pretty big. The only Con I can think of is that the blade was unevenly sharpened which can be easily fixed. Nevertheless it's a good buy for what you're paying for.

Good for the price
I bought one of these knives to carry in my tool box while on the road. I use it to cut trailer seals, cordage, and strapping and to pry nails from tires. What attracted me to this knife was its construction of synthetic materials. Leather sheaths and stacked leather handles soak up moisture and eventually rot. And its stainless blade means that rust won't be a problem. I like the "tanto" design because it concentrates more of the force of a thrust into a point on the axes of the handle than a drop point blade does. The pommel has a hole for a lanyard so another use I can foresee for this blade and its scabbard is as a dive knife if I ever find a time to go diving without my usual gear. I'm going to buy three more for my daughter, my wife, and for me to carry in our car trunks as an "ignored until it's needed" knife.

Marine Copy Knives
I've been buying and selling these Marine K-Bar copy knives for about 4 years and they've been great. I've kept at least 2 of each (tanto & bowie) for my own use. It is about 1/5 to 1/6 the price of the real K-Bars and I don't have to worry about using and abusing them and they are sharp enough and tough enough to do the daily jobs and during camping trips. I use them to cut meat, vegetables, wood kindling, tall grass, whatever and for the price, hard to beat.

Marine Survival Tanto
I bought this looking for an edged weapon somewhere between my pre-existing survival knife and a pocket knife - just something to keep on your belt while camping, hiking, etc. Size wise, it does fit the bill. Like the others have said, it is a medium hardness steel and so won't hold an edge as well as a carbon steel blade. Out of the box, it is handsome, and threatening in appearance. The handle is simple, yet ergonomic for my small hands. It also has a hole drilled for a lanyard if you so desire - nice touch. The pummel is flat and therefore useless as a secondary weapon. However, it is well milled and firm. Being a partial tang weapon, it will be good for hiking, camping, general defense - everything I bought it for. For emergency use as a shovel - NO. The blade, out of the box, had a reasonable edge. In other words, it was a good start and not impressive, but after 20 minutes on my bench, it was a force to be reckoned with. I've never had a larger, non pocket knife with a combination smooth and serrated blade, but I have had success with a combo pocket knife, and so I thought I would give it a try. In sharpening the combo blade, it was initially challenging to get an edge at the blend point where serrated meets smooth, but it was workable. Overall, not a bad investment at all for a blade under $20. I can see this lasting quite a while.

Knife
It's a nice knife out of the box. Sharp but remember it's a cheaper steel and not full tang. If your using it for simple tasks, perfect knife. Survival knife, I wouldn't bet my life on it.

Thin
The knife came to me on time and undamaged. When I opened it didn't seem it was of good construction. With use, I would imagine the handle would loosen. The blade was a little thin and bends easily. I wouldn't claim this to be of USMC standards. Semper Fi.
