Really nice knife. Good weight and balance. To quote Crocodile Dundee "now that's a knife".

Now that's a Knife!
This is indeed a classic "Bowie" knife. It has a wide, expanding blade with a top swaged tapered clip. The body is heavy enough to chop branches, and the tip is aligned nicely with the wooden handle. It has a full tang and nicely riveted wooden handle. Overall, it is a robust, well balanced tool with superior craftsmanship. I bought this knife as the beginning of a knife collection for my grandson, and it is destined to be the star of the collection. The sheath is good quality leather, well stitched. It would be better with some rivets, but that is the only improvement I see possible. Beautiful, powerful, impressive!

Classic Bowie
I have to admit when I purchased the first knife I bought another one right away. This is a durable well made knife perfect for camping or hunting. Finally you get a great price on a quality product. As always thanks and you guys are great!
I love this knife. It sits on my nightstand! It came with a slight burr on the blade by the point, but a minute with a file and then a couple of passes with a knife sharpener and this is my knife. Not only do I love the weight and feel, it just looks neat and is really solid. Like everyone below, the sheath is horrible! But, I am not going to ding a great blade. I already want another one! If I could only buy one knife on this site, it would be this one.

hunk of metal
this is a very good quality knife, its simple and tough, and the fact that its full tang makes it all the better. a good working knife, the only problem is that the sheath is terrible, mine was ripped when i got it and the sewing is loose. other then that this is a good knife for anybody who needs a knife that'll get the job done. Editor's Note: Thank you for your comments. We have updated the review to reflect the appropriate spelling.

American clasic bowie
Great Bowie! excellent if you are looking for a classic style knife. My only complaint is that the guard is a little bit thinner than the guard in the picture, other then that great knife that is an excellent addition to my bowie collection!

Lethal Potential
I purchased this one as a throwing bowie, and as festivities wound down upon the day the Bud K shipment arrived, spirits were high and cheer flowed all around. I was standing directly in front of Chris's motorcycle at the edge of the parking lot, and my daughter had just opened the main door to join us outside when I reared back and put all I had into a long throw at a tree on the other side of the yard. In that precise moment, it became apparent that there was a clothes line quartering the yard, and the guard could be seen hung up upon same, finally releasing with far more power than anyone expected. Chris, astride his bike, snapped his head to the side so as to avoid seeing what happened. My daughter gasped out an expletive deleted and slammed the door rather than see anything further. As for myself, I was hit with tremendous force in the solar plexus and one thought went over and over in my mind. "If one is stabbed through the heart, the wounded individual may be aware for up to four minutes as the brain slowly depletes the oxygen" All I could think of was that if "I SAW THE HILT PROTRUDING FROM MY CHEST, IT WAS GOING TO BE A LOOOONG FIVE MINUTES." Thank you Bud K for selling me a knife that hits butt first!!!!!!

Classic Bowie Blunder
The American Classic Bowie, Got mine today,it's made in Pakistan, OK, the Pakistanis make some really good affordable cutlery. And his knife is a good sample of budgeted Pakistani work. The blade is A-1 good, full tang out to the edge of the grip, and a good fat hard wood grip to match...!, would be even better if it were a bit longer on the grip. But then you see the cost saving methods in production . First the guard is made from thin, soft brass that you could bend by pressing your thumb on it, it looks to be glued on with a slight tack weld. Unfit for this nice blade. Then there's the sheath, it's a great sheath till you get to the belt loop and strap which are made from a thin strip of leather looking like it was for a much smaller knife. Over all this $12 knife could have been made much-much better for $19.99 like the Timber Rattler Western Outlaw Bowie Knife, my favorite in the Big Cheap Bowie Knives here...

Okay Bowie and sheath
Let's talk about this knife honestly. It's a BIG Bowie knife! Quality is only fair. My knife does show a really nice blade and scales. The hand guard is made of very thin brass. and it was loose on my knife, so loose that it rattled. It is so thin that very little pressure will bend it. I had to superglue it to the blade to stop it from rattling. The knife is hefty enough that I believe it could cut a small sapling down with no problem. Let's examine the sheath. It's okay leather but uses a rubber spacer all along the outer edge which is too thick. The cut of the sheath is too big, so much so that the knife doesn't have any resistance to keep the knife from rattling around in the sheath. The belt loop is made from really thin leather material and the retaining strap is even thinner. This strap is not secured to the belt strap, so it moves freely in the slots which makes it very difficult to unsnap. The strap is too long to be effective, when snapped, there is too much room around the hilt that the knife will slop around in the sheath. I like a sheath which hold the knife secure and snug but will still draw with easily. I removed the strap and then placed it down nearer to the hand guard of the knife. I then riveted it in place to the inside of the belt loop. It now is the right size to secure the knife in the sheath. Since it is now secured to the sheath, it is easy to snap and unsnap. I guess the old saying is true again, "you get what you pay for!"
