Product Description
This elegant recreation is reminiscent of the styling of the original Bowie. Gil Hibben's Old West Bowie is a classic beauty!
Huge knife easily the largest knife I own. It borders on short sword. Definitely not for small hands. The craftsmanship is outstanding. The blade and gold plated parts have a nice polish right out of the box. Hard to find anything wrong with this huge piece of steel. One little minor glitch. I just wish it came a little sharper from the factory. Definitely recommend to any knife collector.

Almost Perfect
From the moment I saw my first "primitive Bowie" I was hooked, and of course, Mr. Hibben has beaten all competitors by far, at least as far as production knives are concerned. This one, from China, weighs in at 2lbs. 3oz., while the nest heaviest is from Pakistan at 1 lb. 10 oz., followed by 1 lb 4 oz. from India, etc. The only thing that keeps me from giving this weapon unqualified praise is that I feel slightly cheated by the the "Expendables Bowie", the same knife with an updated hilt to fit the movie as is also the case with the two versions of the "Toothpick". It's hard to justify the extra cost, thus "Shame on you Mr. Hibben or United Cutlery or both, as appropriate. For an older collector on fixed income it's hard not to feel a little betrayed. As to you, Bud K, outstanding in all areas so thank you!!

The Best Knife I ever bought!
I just received this knife today! By far the best bowie knife I ever bought! It is truely a large bowie, and it is very sharp. I can see why Jim Bowie was feared for his knife if it was as big as this one. It would make anyone cringe with fear if they so someone coming at them with it! History says, Jim Bowie died at the Alamo with his knife in his hand, if this is so, he would have done a lot of damage to those he fought with till he himself was killed! I can only say. wow what a knife!

Old West Bowie
This is one fantastic knife. Great blade, nice leather sheath and good weight. An absolute steal for the price. Blade definitely resembles the original Bowie.

Beautiful
First off I must tip my hat to BudK for their prompt delivery and fantastic prices. My first purchase from the catalog and I will most definitely be a returning customer. Now for the knife review. It is truly a large knife, those being the only I prefer, I was extremely happy with the weight also the edge was not sharp out of the box which I must say thank you for allowing me the opportunity to put my own on it. However for all this knife's positives there is one big negative. It is absolutely beautiful and thats about as far as it's usefulness goes. A truly gorgeous display piece with a sheath that is also a piece of eye candy. It feels like it could stand some use. It can't. Put it on the shelf and gawk at it along with any others who see it and go a different and likely cheaper rpute on your large bowie if you intend to use it for what it's made for.
