KA-BAR Short Black Straight Knife with Glass Filled Nylon Sheath

I have the full sized Ka Bar and thought the shorter one would be practical as well, when a smaller knife would be more suitable. The knife arrived today and I had to smile at the 'baby' when I opened the package. It is way smaller than the original to the point of being humorous. It looks like a shrunken down Ka Bar. Like someone put the original in a clothes dryer for too long and it came out 2 sizes smaller. But, after my initial 'aw, isn't he cute' reaction I really checked it out. Ka Bar quality throughout. Blade is razor sharp and the size is really handy, if you don't or can't carry the full sized. The kryton handle is solid, but easy to grip, although somewhat small. The glass filled sheath is fantastic. I should have ordered that sheath with my full sized knife instead of the leather sheath, and probably will order it. But back to the short Ka Bar. It is quality on par with the full sized. I can see this being a very practical knife but I gave it 4 stars, not because there is anything wrong with this one, but because I like the full sized Ka Bar so much. If you are looking for a shorter Ka Bar, or a 5 fighter, you can't go wrong with this. I am pleased with the knife overall.
