Lightweight, versatile and full of spunk, the KA-BAR "Rambler" Skeleton Fixed Blade Knife is perfect for a variety of cutting jobs and makes an ideal everyday carry. It's designed in the USA by custom knife maker Jesse Jarosz yet is extraordinarily affordable - easily within reach of blue collar country boys like Jarosz himself. Featuring a razor sharp 2 1/2" 5Cr15 stainless steel blade and an open-frame "skeleton" handle, the minimalist Rambler has all the cutting power of fancier knives, without the added weight or bulk. The blade fits snugly and firmly inside the included hard synthetic friction lock sheath. This - along with integrated lanyard holes in both the sheath and the knife handle - lets you safely and comfortably hang the lanyard from your neck as a handy, quickly accessible neck knife. Whether employed as a neck knife, carried in your pocket or tethered to your gear the Rambler's small profile - just 6" long overall - and feather-light weight make it especially well suited for back country adventures, where space and weight capacity are extremely limited. Designer Jarosz likely had that in mind, recalling his days hunting, fishing, trapping and generally enjoying the great outdoors in the Nebraska wilderness, where he grew up. As a youngster, Jesse also often helped his father with woodworking and construction. Like generations of his family before him, Jarosz developed a genuine passion and knack for working with his hands. Having access to his father's tools, he was always building or tinkering with something in his free time. Loving knives and building things since he was a small child, it was just a matter of time before Jarosz combined the two, making his first knife well before his 18th birthday. Driven by a strong work ethic instilled in him by his family, Jesse began crafting custom high-end knives soon thereafter, eventually founding Jarosz Knives. KA-BAR is proud to add Jesse to their roster of skilled custom knife designers.
