I purchased this Ridge Runner Bowie knife about 2 months back , and also the Executive Bowie . I , mys , are a K Bar man . Thats been my number one blade the past 38 years of hunting, fishing, camping and foraging. I decided to explore new knives . I am very impressed with the Ridge Runner Bowie , I have put this blade through hell , chopped saplings , split maple post by “hammering “ with a Rock on the back side . Dug into the ground during foraging trips , cut rope , cut aluminum, plastic. Cleard brush , hitttrocks along the way. Skinned deer , lamb and butchered several chickens . It sharpens up in 7 minuets ready to go !!! Handle is Still sturdy , nothing coming lose . I’m going to order couple more , just to have for gifts. Great Knife , who called this an “un interesting cake knife “ This is a Survival Knife !

Great gift
As a fan of cheap bowie knives, I am sampling Budk bowies and tyhis one is another winner. very classy, but also a full tang design, makes this one a thrwing knife for me. The next ones will be Christmas gifts for people. Very nice at twice the price.

Well worth the money...
This is a great companion to the RR elite bowie. It is of course much larger and heavier than the elite but the family resemblance is unmistakable. Mine arrive in flawless condition and has impressed everyone I've shown it to...especially when I tell them how little I paid for it. The sheath is only marginally better than the one with the elite but it works for the time being. Over all, it is a great deal on a very solid, very unique looking blade.

Larger Version of Executive Knife
When I purchased this knife it was called the RR 'Ambassador Bowie'. This knife is much lighter than my 'Western Outlaw Bowie', therefore, much easier to handle & control. Beautiful w/precision-machined parts that fit seamlessly. Though the handle has the same appearance as the 'Executive', it is larger, overall, in proportion with the larger blade. Not for use as an ax, as the 'Outlaw' can be used - different tools for different jobs - but a beautiful knife and nice weight and balance. Though she would look better in leather, at this price she's a steal.

Great Knife for the Price
I have to say that after reading the previous review I was worried about the quality of this knife. I bought it as a gift for the best man at my wedding, and one for myself. When I unwrapped the box I was afraid because the boxes they came in were crushed. However, the knife was untouched and the sheath, though cheap, was in good shape. The knife comes in the sheath with a plastic covering on the blade. When I picked up the knife I could tell from the weight alone that it was of good quality. It was much bigger than I thought but I am a big guy and can appreciate a big knife. It is very sharp and has a nice edge on it. for a knife that only cost 2 twenty dollars, I am comfortable saying that I would assume it cost around one hundred dollars. All in all I am extremely satisfied with my purchase, as I have been with everything I have bought from BudK.

Excellent blade
The ridge runner ambassador bowie has an excellent heavy blade and can't be bettered for the price. The handle, however,is flat and not round the way it looks in the photo. This is good with me because I make hand wrapped handles for knives. This is also a formidable knife considereing the blade length,4-5 inches and then a twist is all that's needed.

Nice
I had previously bought the executive ,and was very pleased with it.So I thought I would try the Ambassador. It too was very good. I also bought the folder, Extremely good. They are all similar and well made. I got all of them with wood inserts .Will buy the other two with the plastic later .I am a custom knife maker myself and was mildly surprised as to the quality of all three of the knives. I make custom sheaths, so the crappy sheaths didn't bother me to much. I plan to make a modular leather sheath that can hold all three. But that also can be separately worn. A neat project. The 4 star rating is only because of the sheathes.

...but sharp as h**l
the grip is a bit to small for my taste. i prefer bigger grips for more handling. this is a bummer. the is well made and the blade is sharp like h**l.

Ridge Runner Elite Grand Bowie
I was some what dissapointed with this item. I thought, from the picture of it presented here, thaty the handle would be thicker than it is and that the scroll work on the handle would be more pronounced than it was. It is full tang, and fairly sharp, with plastic inlay, instead of wood, in the all metal handle. It is OK as a novelty item, at a good price, yet I would not buy it again, since the handle is uncomfortable for my grip.

RR Ambasador Bowie
The knife looks great and is sharp. however the handle is flat and does not fit the hand will at all.
