Product Description
The Kukri is a Nepalese knife originally used to clear wooded areas and later used as an effective weapon due to its curved design. The curve enables the user to create more force when wielding the weapon.

I got mine as a free gift for my order. I was pleasantly surprised at the sharpness of the blade. I have not used it on anything heavy, but I felt that the blade was substantial.

I will not "bash" this unit because it's dull or cheap. I bought it because it's cheap. I can sharpen it (and have done so)without a problem. Items like this are meant to learn or experiment with. I wanted to see if I would like a Kukri Machete, I wanted to learn to throw it (I am and it's FUN). This is the perfect one to do this with. I got mine on the buy one get one free deal, sorry I didn't order a few more. Please don't listen to customers who pay $9.99 for a Kukri Machete and expect it to chop concrete pilings. That is pure ignorence. If you have never held, owned or not sure you would use one, then buy this one. It will give you the feel of what they are capable of then the guys at BUDK are more than capable of helping you pick out a higher quality one to fit your needs and budget. If you don't like it you can sell it at a yard sale or to someone for the $9.99 you have in it with no problem as long as it's not beat up. Forgot to mention that this is also a good tool to teach your son or daughter how to handle one with. It is dull, lightweight and inexpensive. Like starting them with a BB gun before you move to the .22. The sheath is less than desirable, but here again, this unit is not made for an everyday carry in the amazon jungle.

I've always wanted a kukri, and this piece immediately caught my eye. But with all of the reviews I've read on this so far, I played it safe and got it in a BOGO sale. Of course, the sheaths are crap, but I was able to reinforce them using duct tape and cardboard pieces. To be fair, most sheaths from most sellers are crap. As for the blades themselves, they actually feel pretty solid. They both arrived nice and sharp out of the box. As far as durability goes, I hacked up a wood pallet pretty nicely. Cutting in "v" patterns, it chunks out pieces of wood really well for what you get. The blades are thin and it feels like it can bend if given enough force. I have mixed feelings on the handles. On one hand, the plastic grip is easy on the hands when swinging the blade around, and the studs are held together by philips heads, making maintenance and customization much easier. On the other hand, the plastic grip feels hollow, like it will crack/break if you swing against something hard enough. Again, like the sheath, you can always reinforce it yourself, like duct tape or electrical tape. I feel like it'll come to that eventually anyways. If used for the right application, and with the occasional modifications and maintenance, I feel like this will be a nice durable blade for many uses to come. Now that I finally have it, I'm starting to suspect that a majority of these 1-star reviews came from people that actually tried cutting a tree down with this. I don't know what you guys were doing with this kukri, but hey. This is why we can't have nice things.

If you are looking for a thick blade, razor edge, and perfect balance don't buy this, but if you are looking for a reliable light weight kukri blade that is easy to carry and use, this is your blade. It maintains a good edge, great for a bug out bag and wait for a BOGO event to double your ability. For the price you won't find any better.

A freebie w/order...so no risk - Right? Well, it really surprised me as I took it camping the very next weekend. Cutting a log into segments, I switched off between my hatchet and found this easily did the job. It really is lightweight to use, sharp and sharpens well, but the biggest surprise was how smoothly it sails and cuts through the air as you use it. Noticeable speed difference from the axe. I would buy easily at this price point.

this machete is good for the price. came sharp in a way... but my only concern is the handle was hollow and weak but nice blade!

Well it started out like any saturday. my package arrived nice and like a giddy young boy i rushed to open it. what i found was a dull bent blade. i liked it but it wasnt what i was wanting. after fixing the bent blade i spent 3 hours trying to sharpen with no avail. after a little break my genius brain decided to use the dremel. After 30 minutes with a dremel the blade turned out nice and can at least cut something. you get what you payed for and i cant complain. other then that it is quite a fine piece of cutlery.

it bigger than i thought witch is good but the sheath is shit. i've had it for 5 hours before i cut the sheath just taking out the kukri. the blade is good i have already cut a 4inch branch in half with one swing and it cut my dads finger in the first hour of getting it. the blade is a 5 but the sheath is a 0 so i give this a 4

This was my first purchase from Budk. It looks incredibly awesome but isn't extremely sturdy. I would recommend it to those of you who collect knives for the looks and not the function. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that is was very greasy and extremely dull when they arrived.

I bought this with the buy 1 get 1 free (for $10) thinking it would be a decent machete. One of them I got was duller than dirt, and the other one was sharp but the handle was super loose. I guess they are decent for the price, but I wish the sheath was better. The machete looks really small because of the curve in the blade, I have a 15 inch machete and it looks like that one is bigger. I wouldn't buy more, even for ten bucks, but I'm not sorry I bought it for that price. I guess there is a reason they are giving them away for free now haha

This is a toy. It didn't hold up to 10 minutes of clearing brush. The edge ended up looking like poor excuse of a serrated blade after the nicks and folded edge from hacking 1" diameter gum and oak saplings. Worst machete I've ever owned.

I usually have good luck from Budk, but this one was rough. The handle was loose when I received it, got a replacement, same thing. The blade is wafer thin, the machete could barely cut through tall grass. Don't get it. Budk, please stop selling this one, you can do better!

Junk blades the blade is flimsy and bends way to much and is not sharp at all. just a curved butter knife. only bought them because it was the 2 for one deal supposedly.

So I bought this just to test out the kukri design. Buying this I expected it to be fairly low quality but what I got was pathetic. I went out to chop a green pine branch. Within 3 swings the ientire blade was bent and smashed up. Along with that the handle also took a good chunk of flesh out of my finger. I was appalled at how flimsy it was. It was simply a sharpened piece if sheet metal. I then called and got my money back. Then I figured that I might as well try throwing the piece if crap because that is what originally sold me on it. I threw it twice and this broke the entire handle off and completely destroyed the tip. Normally I am a huge supporter of budk and I still am. When I order from them I do not expect top of the line tools and weapons. However, I do expect what I order to last more than five minutes. In the past I have ordered other Tomahawk brand weapons such as throwing knives. I was not impressed with these either. I would suggest that any budk shopper STAY AWAY FROM TOMAHAWK BRAND PRODUCTS. If you plan to do anything more than display this kukri then I would never recommend it. I was very disappointed and will not be buying anything that is made by Tomahawk. Please do not buy this. I would like to thank budk customer service for working with me to get my money back. It was no hassle and I appreciate it.

like I said in my headline you get what you pay for , the blade was fairly sharp when it came but it didn't even stand up to some pine trees , the softer wood in the forest , within the first five swings the blade was bent in three spots but I had no choice but to continue using it for what I needed it for by the end of the day it was totally wrecked and in need of some serious grinding to repair the damage done to it from pine alone . The edge that it had on it was done way to thin for any good chopping to be done with it , it should have been kept at close to the same thickness as the rest of the blade is

I added this kukri to my order at the last minute. I normally take the time to check out the particular weapon that's being sold by several different vendors and I read all the reviews before purchasing the item. I didnt do all the research this time and I ended up regretting it. The sheath was very cheaply made and too large to hold the kukri and when it was turned upside down the blade would fall out. The blade was dull and square and would have been better suited for bludgeoning. If you want a kukri machete for any reason other than hanging it on the wall because it looks cool, I strongly suggest you spend a little more money for quality.
