Product Description
After the tremendous success of the first generation of Out-the-Front knives, Smith and Wesson introduces its second-generation OTF knives with a new improved aluminum & rubber outlay handle. The 3" black coated 4034 stainless steel spear point blade still rockets out from the handle, but a pistol-style safety on the side of the handle assures no accidental deploy of the blade.
The reviews that say this has an all metal grip are incorrect, it is made of Zytel, the same material used for the frame of the Smith & Wesson M&P. I repeat NOT METAL.

O.K. now that I have that out of the way, this is a great knife. It comes moderately sharp, could definitely use a pass over your fine or higher grade whetstones. The action is the same every time. Hard to close one-handed but it is possible. Very easy to open but makes a good deal of noise. The clip is too close to the handle to make for a good boot knife, not to mention the frame is too wide. However it is a great pocket or belt knife.

Pros:
- Very well constructed
- Very easy to open
- Blade holds a edge well
- Its an S&W
- It gets the job done

Cons:
- Hard to close one handed if you don't have enough thumb strength or range of motion
- Loud
- Not very ascetically pleasing

Overall:
- if you are looking for a new knife get this, its a real beauty. The pros massively outweigh the cons.

Side notes:
- Move the secondary safety(the one one the bump you press) to the side in order to close the knife.
- If the primary safety is reapplied when the blade is out the blade is locked in place.

Hard to figure out at first, you need to push down on the little button above the trigger to close it. Good weight and an ok glass breaker. Hard spring, you need to have a strong thumb to close the knife with one hand though, overall great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

S&W OTF knife
Overall this is a decent knife. Had to oil it and work the blade and lock to loosen it up a little. The release to return the blade is a bit difficult to operate due the small size, but is workable. Have to use my thumb nail to allow the return to work in bringing the blade back in. Again, overall it is a good knife. Just keep the lock secured so it doesn't accidentally open. Gave one to a friend who really likes it too.
