Product Description
Traditional ninja claws are worn on the hands for climbing and self-defense.
I have several pairs. One pair used with the wrist strap and to climb. The other pair used cut off the strap and put the claws facing forward on the back of my hand. So the claws are facing forward across my knuckles as a punching self defense tool. Oh and I have tactical gloves with rubber knuckles. Leaves your hand free for other weapons like knives or swords or a hand gun or shot gun. Do it with these then punch something soft like water melon or cantaloupe or milk jug with water. Don't punch walls or wood. You'll hurt your hand. These spikes will penetrate flesh easily. I hunt deer so last year I strung up my deer in a tree and punched it with both fists on each hip once each. They work. Yes I washed them before and after. Oh and it didn't destroy the meat. We ate it and all is well.

climbing tree
amazing for climbing trees but you should know how to climb a tree first so you don't pull a dear Evan Hansen and is also recommended that you get gloves because when used the metal can hurt your hands a bit

Self defense
As a self defense weapon, the spikes would make it impossible to use in conjunction with other weapons (guns, knives, swords), and I wouldn`t want to rely solely on them for defense, as the other guy may have a gun, knife, sword.

I tried climbing a tree in my back yard it hurt like heck but still worked great my hands are pretty small so i had to wear thick padded gloves and that hurt, so i wedged some socks in between and it didn't hurt at all. Over all amazing product i would recomend to anybody.

Meh. They came in the mail within about a week, i opened them up, was a disappointed by the cheap Chinese looking box. I opened the box and i pull these gigantic things out and I'm like EPIC!! these are big and spiky, sometimes they come with a little bit of extra metal on the tips that is bent, but nothing that can't be fixed with a metal file. Also I can tell these are made for larger people, as i have very small hands. nothing that cant be fixed with a pair of thick cotton fingerless gloves ^_^ all in all, 5/5!

there are great. allthough i put a sock on the back of my hand because they dig into my hand but after that they worked GREAT! 5stars!

Cliff Simpson Aug 10, 2007 (5 out of 5)
They are very hard to use for climbing but still nice. If you wear gloves they don't hurt. You can also flip them around so the spikes are on the top of your hand. very sharp. good buy
Allen Witsman Jul 30, 2007 (5 out of 5)
i didn't think that they would work but i love them
Ryan Gray Jul 07, 2007 (5 out of 5)
They are really solid, but they kind of impractical. I wouldn't recomend for for actual use.
Dan Slutz Jul 05, 2007 (5 out of 5)
they are very cool but the metal hurts your hands but if you buy a pair of gloves they should be fine.
Chris Whittington May 21, 2007 (5 out of 5)
few words can decribe them. alone there great for climbing but can also be used as a bear claw like weapon.
tommy james Oct 02, 2012 (4 out of 5)
very cool piece. cant quite climb with them all that well and straps are rather hard to get on by yourself. better for fighting than climbing.
Justin Tower Feb 21, 2012 (4 out of 5)
A simple yet solid build. A pair of thick gloves are a must, as the metal can be quite painful on ones knuckles whilst climbing trees. The scaling of trees itself while these are on can take some getting used to, but is certainly fun.
john phillips Mar 19, 2011 (4 out of 5)
because the back of the claw is metal it hits uncomfortably against the back of your hand especially when it catches on something but you can place a folded rag to cushion it overall worth the price
Wes Turk Dec 14, 2010 (4 out of 5)
Cool product but is hard to use without the foot claws.

Hand Claws
I don't know why people are complaining about the metal digging into the back of their hands. If you use these things right, that doesn't happen. So basically these are like the foot spikes also sold by BudK; basically indestructible. They aren't crap metal that falls apart on you like a lot of things do. Also, the spikes are wicked sharp. God forbid you slap someone in the face with them. Good luck getting your hand out of their face. But the spikes, like the foot spikes, aren't that great for climbing. They're bent at just the right angle to make it difficult to climb any tree that doesn't have a rugged bark. Overall I give them a 4 out of 5.
jose mancha May 28, 2010 (4 out of 5)
cheap metal and bends easily, but fun while last
Ryan Kamins Apr 07, 2009 (4 out of 5)
i liked them but there hurt to climb so u would need some padding on your hands if u like climb then get them and get some padded gloves for the back of your hands
ryan hughes Aug 24, 2007 (4 out of 5)
they are good for climbing if you wear gloves, they still hurt a little but with the gloves but after a while you can get used to them, it would probably be a good i dea to get the foot spikes as well. good buy.
jacob smith Jun 22, 2007 (4 out of 5)
Too big for my hands and I am 5'10'' , since they are so loose the metal hurts your hands when you try to use them but I bet if you got some gloves to wear underneath they would work pretty well.
Matthew Chenevert Jun 20, 2007 (4 out of 5)
I like how Sharp they are.
Josh West Aug 22, 2012 (3 out of 5)
Not bad for the price. I didn't expect the metal to which the spikes are attached to go completely around- forming a thick band. This looks (and feels) incredibly uncomfortable and will most likely require some modifications. This metal band is very lose (and I have wide hands) though I have yet to test them out... hence the three star rating.
Neil Enderland Oct 24, 2008 (3 out of 5)
painful to climb with. multiple uses though
Michael Jones Nov 24, 2013 (2 out of 5)
Short version: Useless

Long version: It's fairly simple, these claws are advertised to aid climbing and self defense. And after testing it I cannot imagine how this is supposed to be achieved. The claws will either press into the back of your hand as you pull down or slide off your hand if you press inward. I couldn't even get the claws to penetrate bark on four different trees much less stick into the wood. Even performing a strong slapping motion yielded little more than dashed hopes and me looking silly hitting a tree. Just wearing them removes your ability to grab branches, which is about 70% of tree climbing.

The only reason I'm giving it 2 instead of 1 is because they are well built, just poor design for climbing.

Ninja Hand Claws
I was very excited when i ordered these and when I got them they were WAY too big so put some hand wraps on to get them to fit. Also when I went to climb a tree with the foot spikes and all they did not work like I had hoped. If you think you will be able to scale trees with these and the foot spikes you won't. This was the only time I have been deeply disappointed by a product from Budk. However on the positive side the claws are VERY sharp, and durable. They are great if you want to hit people, but if you want something for climbing I would just go with the grappling hook. I would give this 2 out of 5 stars!
