The 1908 British Cavalry Trooper's Sword is considered the most effective cavalry sword ever designed. Sadly, this pattern was developed just as swords were determined to be obsolete on the modern battlefield. The Indian Army, however, adopted this design and put it into production for their troopers. This replica is an excellent example of that saber. Measuring 42" overall, this sword features a narrow 35" high carbon steel blade with a thick cross section and sharp point. It has an excellent bowl shaped hand guard and a grip that automatically brings the point in line for the perfect thrust. This replica features lighter gauge steel than the original model in order to improve balance and also offers a more durable plastic grip. This item includes a metal scabbard with rings to carry the sword on a belt or attached to a saddle. This is an excellent replica, and well worthy of addition to any serious sword collection!
