Listen , we all knew this was going to be made out of resin , not metal . I am very pleased with the design and the color is not as bad as some are saying . My only disappointment with this is the blue color around the runes and the wood is to shiny . I have heard that some break in shipping , but most are breaking from customers slamming the sword into the resin . Mine arrived safe and sound , this is a great display piece and looks great with the sword . If you want a scabbard to wear and mess around with DO NOT buy this . If you want a display piece , this is for you . Lets face it , for the price you are paying it is great , would I love stamped aluminum with a wood insert , sure , but how are you gonna get the wood grain exact ? ? ? This is a very complex piece for a scabbard , so I am happy with what we are offered .

Good, but certainly not great.
When I first ordered this sheath, I was hoping for a strong, durable, long lasting sheath with similar materials as to the Sting sheath. When I first received it, I was a bit upset. It was entirely plastic, and it did not have a good, belt loop. The loop is on a angle and is more for someone to where on their back, not their hip. However, I felt this to be a good buy only because it does what it was built to do, protect the blade, Orcrist. I did not want to put it on the wall and I had no place to put a open blade besides its box. The sheath helped fix this problem and protected the blade when my sword fell of my shelf. Although the sheath did crack and basically became un-usable, It helped protect what I really care about, the blade, and that is all that matters. I do plan on buying another, and although the price is pretty high, it does its job and it is the only sheath that matches the blade on the market, so really consider if you want to buy it before paying the price. With that being said, I would give it a 3.5/5. As you can see I put it as 3, but that is because there is no option for half stars. If you do get it, you'll be sad about it's appearance, but it will be gotten over quick.
P.S.: Do not put it on high places because it does break easy. So be careful.

Not good quality.
Quality on this left much to be desired. Not only it looks and feels cheap, a piece of it broke of when sheathing the sword.

OMG!
What a piece of junk! Too bad they don't have a ZERO STAR rating. Will try to return even though I will lose much of what I paid in the cost of shipping.

Terribly Disappointed
Like the other reviewers, I was extremely excited to see this scabbard available for purchase. I tracked the package to my door and tore open the box like a kid on Christmas day. The appearance was okay, and I didn't notice tooling marks like some of the other reviewers, but when I put my Orcrist sword in the scabbard, the tip of the hilt that seats in the scabbard was apparently too long, as it caused the scabbard to break and a large piece of the upper part of the scabbard broke off cleanly. I thought about gluing it back, but realized the scabbard would not survive any use and would easily break off of a belt. The scabbard should have been made from pot metal at least. Oh, if only I had reviews to read before purchase... DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SCABBARD AS IT IS JUNK THAT WILL PROBABLY NOT SURVIVE EVEN YOUR WALL MOUNT.

So disappointed...
I have to agree with Alex, the reviewer before me, pretty much word for word. I've never reviewed an item on BudK before, but I felt I needed to give potential buyers all the facts. This is my 15th LOTR/Hobbit replica I've added to my collection, and although I am immensely disappointed in it, I hope it won't be the last piece I add. This scabbard is entirely plastic - don't let the description wording fool you. It looks really cheaply made compared to the Glamdring & Sting scabbards, which I love. My scabbard has tooling marks, scratches, and a terrible paint job. I don't see anything that resembles felt on the inside - it's not soft, whatever it is, it looks to be some sort of industrial spray-on foam. I understand why UC went with a resin scabbard - if they tried to make one out of real wood and metal, it would cost more than the sword Orcrist itself. However, after seeing this, I think I would be willing to pay twice as much to have a scabbard that wouldn't look so odd next to Sting & Glamdring. If it hadn't become so difficult to return things to BudK in recent months, I think I would try to give this lemon back. Please UC, don't stop making scabbard replicas, but please try harder than this!

Worst LOTR/ Hobbit replica ive bought yet
I own 9 LOTR and Hobbit replicas that I've purchased from BUDK. I've been more than satisfied with all of them till this one came along. This one is so cheaply made it makes me sick. I spent the same amount on the strider scabbard which is gorgeous. I was so excited to receive this product just to open it and find cheap plastic laminate wood. Crummy looking metal stamping and a big MADE IN CHINA sticker on the back. This was so bad I don't even want to hang it on my wall with the rest of my replicas. United should be ashamed to put their name on this product. This will be the last LOTR/Hobbit replica I buy unless I see their production quality go up. The sword does not even tightly fit in the scabbard like the Sting or strider sword does with its Scabbard. The writing on the sword isn't even dyed the same color as what's on the Scabbard so together it looks terrible. I never review anything I buy, but this was so bad I had to put it out there to keep people from making the mistake I did in buying this product.
