Product Description
The Death Talon Katana Sword is one wicked Ninja-fighting machine! Featuring a sharpened, full-tang, high carbon steel blade with a blood groove, this sword is designed to deliver devastating blows. The talon shaped tsuba is attached to the hardwood handle, which is wrapped with black cord and offers bamboo peg construction. Includes a high quality double strap system for a quick and easy tactical carry.
Didn't know what I'd be getting for 30 bucks. This sword is real. Full tang carbon steel blade. Not razor sharp, but sharp enough to cut. It's slightly warped, but not enough to affect its functionality. The handle is longer than I expected it to be. I like the look and feel of the paracord wrapping. Plus, the pommel actually has a skull head on it. The online pics don't show that detail. I removed the straps it came with. I don't plan on wearing this sword anytime soon. Plus, it looks better without them. All in all, great buy for the price. Thanks BudK!

Nice for Price!
Bought this as a gift BOGO sale. Am very impressed with quality to slice branches and melons. Its got a neat little heft to it but makes me want to improve my one handed swing that much more. Thanks BUDK for this on BOGO and would like to know if i can still engrave it?

Niiiiiice sword. I like it very much. a steal for the price, this is an amazing sword. the skull on the pommel comes off if youre not careful, its best to just take it off and glue it back on with more glue. the shoulder straps didnt work for me because frankly, im not fat. i didnt like the basic strap over each shoulder style, so i changes it and had both straps over one shoulder and a belt around the chest to hold them there. then slide down the bottom one (its adjustable) down to your waist- works great that way. the blade is very sharp, can easily cut through milk jugs and up to 1 1/2 inch wood with my power.
its a good buy. get it. NOOOOOW
video of it in action:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUalRF2BKlk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmqPrzFBIRQ

Although i have a few brand name swords that cost more than double and three times as much, this katana is still one of my top favorites. It is a unique cross between a ninja sword and samurai sword combining the best attributes of both. For a reasonably low price, i am very impressed w/the quality of the blade itself. It does say "china" on the side near the base but other than that its very nice. The curvature is katana standard and it came just as sharp as any of my musashi swords ever have. The high carbon steel is what ur really spending ur $$ on as the handle and sheath arent all that impressive. The back strap was kinda confusing to assemble and i just removed it later. Definitely worth the price if u r looking for a pretty good quality blade at not too high a price

very great blade did come a littleblack on the finish at the top of the blade. what they dont tell you about this sword is it has this skull as the bottom fitting below the nylon wraps that is very cool but falls off easily but nothing wood glue wont fix. all in all very nice. worth the buy

Ordered on 4/30/09 and recieved on 5/2/09. Great sword for it's price. It's well balanced and has a great blade. The back strap system that holds the sheath feels natural when wearing it not bulky and awkward like some others. The talon tsuba does a great job of focusing the area of impact inflicted from a punching strike and the skull kashira is strong enough to withstand being used for striking and bone-breaking manuevers. This sword has easily become one of my favorites if not my favorite sword out of all the ones that I've seen and own.

Worth the price with minor issues.
Upon fastening the sheath on my person, the straps broke, the sheath seam to be made out a cheap wood. And is swiftly becoming more and more unusable, and I haven't walked around with it for a hour yet.
The blade; it is sharp, however, whoever sharpened it did so unevenly, and chipped part of the edge. Nothing that you can't fix yourself.
The blade is fitted properly to the hilt, pommel, and handgaurd.
The hilt is a bit wider then expected but still managable, and perfect for those with larger then average hands.
Its definitely worth the price.
I feel though they could have done a better job on the sheath.

Great product! the blade is beautiful and the hilt is secure. I was somewhat concerned about the nylon wrapping on the hilt proving to be vulnerable to fraying or coming undone, but it is well fastened. My only biffs with the sword are the following:
* the 'talon' cross-guard appears to be painted copper, and scratches somewhat easily.
* the word 'CHINA' is printed on the blade near the hilt... I find that kind of annoying... and no, it doesn't scratch off.
* the end-cap on the bottom of the sheath (a piece of copper/bronze) wasn't glued on all that well. I re-glued it, and I might insert a small black screw through the underside since the sheath itself is made out of wood.
* You can't tell from the picture, but the pummel has a skull relief popping out. Personally, I'm not into the whole skull fad, so that's a good FYI in case you feel the same way.
Overall = worth it! It's a unique style that I haven't seen anywhere else

I have had this Katana for a while now and I am impressed. The strap system however I took off and replaced with another from this site. I decided to test it on some 2 liter bottles and after I was a little upset that the blade slightly warped. No nicks on the sword however. I am moderately skilled and have practiced with other swords many times. You can't beat it for the price. However the only flaw is that it can bend.
