Okhotsk Full Tang Ninjato Sword with Sheath

This is an unbelievable price for a functional sword. At first glance out of the box I couldn't believe the low price. It is very solid with a thick blade. I immediately put a nice edge on it and sanded down the handle. The black is painted on and the paint was covering the rivets. I wanted the rivets to stand out. I have taken down brush, trimmed my hedges and even cut through 3-4 inch branches like they were butter. Things I would never do with my more expensive blades. At time of purchase this was $24.99. I am seeing now it is $17.99. I'm buying another.

I bought this sword a while back it was good ... Until it snapped in half. The straps on the sheath broke too.

Nice sword, was dull out of the box, but sharpening is no issue, scabbard feels paper strong... so not gonna do much with it by any means... Handle is a bit long for its blade length, but overall it feels very good in one or two hands !!! And can't beat it's price either !!!!!

Sharpened it, threw some wood glew to support the leather straps on the sheath, and now its one of my favorite beater swords. Excellent product

I am very pleased with my first sword. Just looking for something to display and have fun with. Seems very solid and nicely weighted and balanced. Feels comfortable with 1 or 2 hands. Perfect for what I want and was looking for.

i tested it right out of the box by holding the box in one hand, and the sword in the other. it cut thru the box so clean, it was like i cut it with a pair of scissors. it's very well balanced and makes for an excellent training sword.

This is another great one! Just got mine today and am very pleased! If you want this because of the little dude wearing it on his back...dont! I think that dudes a midget. I tried it out and instantly took the straps off my sword. I didn't really want them there anyways. The strap that holds the handle looks pretty weak, but the sword pushes into the sheath very securely so it wont matter if it busts. I may just take it off. I am very happy with my entire order! thx budk:)

A truly excellent sword, a friend of mine purchased it a few years ago. Arrived in 4 days! i recommend this sword to any collector.

I just got mine in today. I was very impressed. It is by far the most sturdy and solid sword I have ever owned. The blade is thick and wide, yet it is lighter and more easily handled than most rapiers that I've fought with that pride themselves in speed and precision. The handle appears to be made out of a VERY (and again I stress the word very) tough and solid wood composite material. The handle is about three hand widths long and the blade is twice that. I put an edge on it so sharp it cut my cleaning rag in half. BUDK has once again impressed me. And I would not dare order a sword from somewhere else. All in all, the summary of my review is: if you want a sword that can go through h***, quality made, look sexy, and for a good price. It's right here. The scabbard is very comfortable, but made of some kind of flimsy wood material every time I draw the sword some kind of saw dust leaks out. But screw the scabbard right? Its not really a katana... its really a Ninjato but whatever. Its still a great sword. Handles a little fat and wide but its nice and sturdy.

a beautifully crafted katana. it has a good weight to it and an amazing blade with a nice edge to it. the sheathe makes it easy to get to when strapped to your back.

The katana was much better than I thought, and is quite shiny and perfect as a display piece. Looks much better than it does in the picture, and while the scabbard is not the best, it does its job well. The straps are just a bonus, and I did not find too much use for them. But that's quite alright!<br /><br />Just remember the sword is not truly battle ready! It can be used for light cutting, but is not recommended for heavier cutting like wood, as it feels it would break from a high-impact strike. <br /><br />It does not come too sharp, but after you give it a good edge, it is ready for light cutting, like plastic water bottles.<br /><br />All in all, pretty decent blade for its price, and definately has enough shine to catch attention. Just remember the blade is a bit on the brittle side.<br /><br />5/5 for balance, unique blade, and an excellent handle. (The handle is made from hardwood, so it will last awhile, and is probably the sturdiest part of the sword)

This sword came within one day. I am very pleased with this sword, not much of an edge to it but it is perfect if you like thick, top heavy swords. Definitely something I would recommend for a sword collector.

Very nice sword for $20, for the price it is truly impressive...well balanced, sharp, good solid handguard. I have read some negatives on the straps and scabbard and such, I simply look at these small flaws as opportunities to customize. The grip and blade will get a little of the JQ treatment....here are a couple of tricks--find some nylon webbing at your local fabric store and replace the straps, grind the tip of the blade to your liking and re-polish (mine will have a MUCH more severe angle on the katana tip. The handles are nice and sturdy, but a little slippery for my taste...so customize them to your taste, leather wrap, string wrap...mine will get racing bicycle handle bar tape for padding and grip and I will either paint the blade black or brush it satin/non-reflective. You do what YOU want, it's a 20 buck sword that's well made so it's good starting material and if you reallllly screw it up...well..it was only 20 bucks and just unscrew it by making an entirely different pattern sword, there is more than enough metal to fix it well. This sword is great. Nice wide blade, sharp, and quite sturdy. <br />The sword is all-around a great deal. <br />I can't say as much for the sheath however... The idea was well thought, but it's cheaply made. I had to modify it just so it would stay on my back. <br /><br />So I give the sword a 5.<br />The sheath a 1.<br /><br />Later,

A -beautiful- sword. I knew I would love it from the moment I opened the package. It has a nice, sharp blade, along with a sharp point. The long handle provides easy maneuvering and excellent handling. It fits comfortably on your back, though the parts attached to the sheath tend to slide upwards.<br />For the price, I don't think one could find a finer sword.

this is exactly what i was looking for in a full tang sword! i just wish that the scabbard was a little better made than beech wood and i think the weight could be a little more balanced i would not reccomend having this sword for 1 handed use unless you have the strength for it for the price though its great!

I like this sword but it has issues nothing that serious.<br /><br />first the positives nice size. full tang and its battle almost ready.<br /><br />now the negatives not sharp (easy fix) no varnish on the handle (fixable) and the Habaki was in need of adjustment<br />there was a little wiggle in the Suba.<br />The Saya is a Saya in name only not as cool as the picture makes it out to be. but is functional.<br /><br />now for another positive $19.99.

Solid, heavy, and well proportioned. Handle is a lil large along with the blade base being a large flaring. Tip isn't as hard of an angle as I like barely a 22 deg angle. But a good all around buy. Still glad I bought it unbeatable for the price. Makes it a easy 5 star, a great solid, cheap priced sword for a collection starter or to let of a lil steam in the woods.

Firstly I wasn't expecting this sword to be of high quality but there are some things that I need to clarify. This isn't a katana it's actually more of a ninjato which is shorter than the average katana. And it certainly isn't "unbreakable". The wood handle isn't a uniform black color as shown in the image yet has a smooth easily held grip. The blade itself has a stamp that says 'Pakistan' which was a surprise. As a ninjato the blade ought to be completely straight but mine came with the blade slightly curved outward. My biggest disappointment was that the blade itself was slightly warped to one side. For the money paid I'd say it's a decent buy and worth the money if you aren't planning on using it for actual combat. I intended mine for mostly aesthetic purposes as a cosplay prop anyway and stabbing bottles which is cool. I would only recommend it for these purposes unless sharpened manually.

This sword looks great and is well made. The strap that came with it is really to thin and cheaply made. But, I didn't buy this for the strap. Plus, for the price you can't go wrong.

I bought this tuesday. And it arrived today. Came pretty quick. Here before all my [3rd party merchant removed] stuff. I'm not surprised though. But it seems full tang, really heavy unbalenced blade. But its still really nice. Its a bit wobbly but ya know. its great for 20 bucks.

first off its a lot heavier than i expected but its amazing. The blade can be sharpened easily and has a mirror polish. The sheath is complete and uter junk but its all good. A $20 sword that is stable and super cool. Worth the money!

This sword is impressive in stature and build. an intimidating blade to be sure. the handle is a bit uncomfortable and the sheath is crap. But the sword is pretty badass.

the sword is really sturdy and has a nice thickness to it. great for just messing around. The only problem i have with is it is hard to get it in and out of the sheath.

The blade itself is strudy and very solid. However, the scabbard was an issues because the straps actually broke and had to be fixed and then the wraping around the scabbard began to unravl and had to be fixed as well. However, the blade is sharp and is welll-made and well worth more than its price.

Not a bad starter. The weight is quite desirable and the shape of the blade is unique. However, the sheath is poorly made out of what looks like plywood; the strap could also use more attention to quality.

The handle is a little bit big for the sword which throws off the balance a little bit but the blade is sharp and the feel of the sword is amazing. this is deffinetly the strongest sword that i own

It is worth 20 dollars. The blade isn't sharp and the sheath isn't very well put together, the sword can't be inserted all the way in (it gets snagged on the brass ring). Plus the whole thing was covered in sawdust.

this sword was a lot nicer then i thought it would be. it looks tottaly different then the picture though. yeah the straps are tottaly crap and the sheath is ok but who cares its the sword that counts. its pretty well balanced, it would last you a lot of battles.

You get what you pay for twenty dollars of medium grade stainless steel in the general shape of a sword a cheap particleboard scabbard wrapped in elastic and some "pleather" straps that wouldn't hold up a dry twig.<br /><br />My own blade came with a ground down edge that had a large bend in it (just the edge the blade itself). Having said that it is an okay blade now that I've put an edge on it. (three or so hours with a grinding wheel)<br /><br />Bottom Line: Don't expect to have a "Combat Ready" sword even if it has an edge.<br /><br />Note: If you are a Blade Modder this one is a good jumping off point for a custom sword because of its squared design.

It certainly is full tang! An although the craftsmanship is very poor, not to mention the edges are uneven, a few dents and bends, it is also very solid. Sword is not battle ready, nore should it ever be used for battle. It came with a flat edge for a blade, after using an accusharp on it I was able to get a rather nice edge. All in all this is what I expected, ~ its intended use: for clearing brush.

Meh, wasn't super impressed, this has a mirror finish, pretty plain, not as thick as i thought (like 3mm or 1/16''). Reminds me of an over sized kitchen knife. lol

On the positive side, this will make a better practice tool than the wooden ones I was initially looking into getting. However, I must note that the straps are flimsy and the blade has no edge. I figured "Battle Ready" meant it was ready for battle, I was using common sense. Still, this will be a good opportunity to practice with it while it can't hurt anyone seriously. Eventually I'll put an edge on it myself. The scabbard is also not to my liking but perhaps I can find a place that can make a custom leather, vinyl, or some other material sheath.

The sword itself is nice although the back straps are very poorly done. The sword needs a good push to go to the end of the sheath and once you remove the sword the sheath will just fall down your back. Sword almost made a clean cut through its box after I pulled it out. Grip is kinda hard on the hands but its still a nice sword for the money.

I bought this sword, it wasn't even sharpened and it was freaking bent!

talk about el cheapo -__- first off the handle if like 5 times bigger than the picture and the sheath is literally plywood feels like it could break it

I like to cut down small trees with full tang swords and I've been doing it for a while so my swing is pretty strong and well when I first got the sword it felt ok but it literally bent terribly the first time I swung it through the air. The sheath was decent but I wouldn't trust this for anything more than looks. I love budk but this product is bad go for something like the twin black mamba duo swords if you want to actually use a sword for something they're about the same price and 20x better than this sword

For the price I wasn't expecting it to be a master crafted sword , but upon opening the box I found out you could stab a target standing around a corner . It had a major bend in the blade that I'm going to attempt to straighten as best I can . The one I received might be an exception to what others have gotten , but I'm kind of disappointed . I've been a BudK customer for many many years & this was the first true disappointment I've had yet & I'll continue to shop with them .
