Product Description
This historical recreation is modeled after the traditional battle swords wielded by the hordes of Viking invaders that pillaged Europe in the Dark and Middle Ages. This sword features a wide 29" blade crafted from 440 stainless steel. The handle offers cast metal pommel and guard along with a brown suede leather wrapped handle. This sword includes a coordinating sheath and measures 34 1/4" overall. This item is a worthy addition to any sword collection!
It’s sharp, thin though, not full tang, decent handl, scabbard fits snug enough, lightweight, worth the price, but it’s big brother would snap this one in Half. Only $30.00 more! Nice to have both though.

I just received my sword and am very pleased. It is clean, straight, solid, and paper-cutting sharp. This will be a prized display piece to my Norsk heritage.

Decent sword, a little unbalanced, so be mindful of that. BTW I think the leather straps that come on the sheath are not so much meant to attach to your belt, but are a "friðbönd (peace strap), straps to prevent the sword from being drawn in anger in places where its use was prohibited" (cited from this page http://www.hurstwic.org/history/articles/manufacturing/text/viking_sword.htm)

Odin would be proud
This is an excellent sword. It is worth it's price. The ONLY problem I have is that it sort of clangs around in the sheath if not careful with it. The ACTUAL blade is very nice. sharp, pointy. Good for cutting and stabbing like all swords should be. It has a nice shine to it, the handle is nice and comfortable in the hand. Unfortunately Budk.com will not let me give it 10 stars, because if I could give it 10 stars I would. This was a great buy.

its a fun sword to have t looks better in person then it does in the picture. but if u wanna use it to slice and dice i wouldnt buy it. it chopped the box nicely but the edges arent to sharp and the blade doesnt seem to secure to the blade. but the point of the sword is sharper then i thought. i really like the sword its nice to show off and swing around (with out hitting anything). im really happy with the work of it.

i love this sword it is very well built and very good quality. the point is very sharp but the blade edges are not very sharp they can barley slice the box it came in but they can cut water bottles. but the point is very sharp. very beautiful and over all a 5 out of 5.

Great sword, though I have no prior experience.
It had a little of what seemed to be adhesive on the blade, but it comes off easily. I couldn't get the sheath strap to clip onto anything other than another leather strap. Overall a good sword, sturdy and fun to swing around, but be careful, it's sharp!

pro/con
Personally I had only three problems with this sword. 1. I had to re-glue the pleather cover on the scabbard and the ends of the hilt wrap. 2. The scabbard is worth only the price of the brass fittings. Its just faux suede over thin plastic over 1/16" thick pine. 3. The balance is blade heavy. other than that this sword is perfect for the money. Stainless steel = no maintenance, heavy enough for weight training, enough of a tang so its not going to snap at the hilt, or even inside the hilt. The pommel nut is recessed so you can't see it unless you look straight at it, and sturdy enough to move it fairly fast also, it comes dull enough to work some fairly speedy solo maneuvers without fear of cutting yourself using only minimal protection. Great sword. I will defiantly buy from budk again.

I ordered this on monday and asked for it by thursday before 3 and i got it right on time! the sword is nice, good and heavy just how i like my swords. but there were spots on the blade that look like they are from bad heat tempering, and there is a hole in the pomel where the locking bolt for the tang is, i dint really like that cause it ruins the look a bit. but other wise a good sword anyways

its a great sword and is rather sturdy so its interesting to swing but i had a slight annoyence with the resin or whatever yellow stuff came on the blade i cant seem to find anything to get rid of it

IT was Great, But when you pull it out theres these Black streaks that can be on there from the case.
But its a Great sword and you can clean off the black streaks off with some metal cleaning solution.
NOT SOAP AND WATER.
THAT CAN CORRODE YOUR SWORD.

well this is my first sword so i dont really know what to go by, but there were no defects, other than some of the leather on the scabbard that hadnt been glued down all the way, but it was very easily fixed with a lttle glue. its maybe a little heavy, but i think its great for the price. i would definatly recommend it if you like the look of it. its also quite sharp. had a lot of fun chopping up the box it came in though im hesitant to see if it can take a real beating.

alright for light practice, or as scrap blade for any practicing blacksmiths. only-half tang, pommel is glued in, and handle is hollow plastic tube

So, although I love this weapon I feel it only deserves three stars because of all of its imperfections. First off, the tip is uneven. Not a big problem, also the grinding of the blade wasn't straight. The pommel was off center. And as I believe someone else said the wrapping on the handle is coming off a little bit. However, with that being said I still absolutely love this sword. It has a perfect weight and just looks great.

It looks pretty cool, but don't expect to get any use out of it for very long. The welding on the tang is terrible and will snap off easily. Other than that, It's fun to hold and wear on your hip and look like a badass.

I bought six of these for groomsmen gifts. The blades are strait and appear rather sturdy. But the leather is cheap, and peeling of the scabbard right out the box. A little gorilla glue will tightin everything down, but it is worth mentioning. The order was delivered 2 day after being placed, very timely!
