It has always been Shocking for me to read reviews written by guys that know nothing about swords, knives, and spears. Again, after reading the reviews of the Shinwa Spear all I can do is shake my head and feel sorry for the lack of education among those many that are confident in writing reviews when most of you obviously have no training or skill. Again, after the bad reviews I had to test this spear, I purposely abused the hell out of it. To date I have thrown my spear over two hundred times, The spear has grassed off my target several times and hit a steel pole dead on leaving a small hole in the pole. Now with all things, if you use it you must maintain and repair. I have glued the blade back on several times, and have had to tap the blade straight again, just the tip, but the tip remains intact and the entire blade is still whole and functional. As for the shaft it remains in one piece and in good shape. The Ito remains tight without fray or tare. My conclusion is if your afraid to use it, Spear, Sword, Knife, don't waist your money on a dust collector. Thank you, Daniel of Nebraska. P.S. Try your spear, it's great fun.

Exceptional and Fully Functional
I bought the Shinwa Spear with the intention of selling it, after reading the reviews I decided to fully test this spear and test it hard. I threw the Shinwa spear well over a hundred times, I used it like a pike and jabbed at a cross section of a pine tree trunk. The Shinwa Spear took all the abuse I could give, it stood up well the blade bent a little bit at the tip but was easy to tap back into place using a small ballpeen hammer I even threw the spear with the tip bent and it never failed to stick in the target, the shaft has a couple of scuff marks but no damage what so ever, the cord wrap is still perfect. Overall the Shinwa Spear is very well made and of excellent quality. Whether you want to use this spear for decoration or use it in weapons practice you will not be disappointed. Thank you Daniel of Nebraska.

Shinwa Red Warrior Spear Damascus with Sheath
If it were not how beautiful the overall appearance of this spear, I'd almost give it a 3. Why? Because of the hollow plastic handle. The Spear Head or blade is huge, well shaped and very nice quality. Razor Sharp. The wrapping or design is top knotch for the price. It's that darn hollow plastic handle that keeps it out of the 5 category. I am afraid to throw it at anythingfor ffear it'll break. . A quick shout out to budk for the SUPER FAST delivery time of just over 24 hours without me paying anything extra. Thank you Thank you

serves its purpose
when the spear arrived, i loved the blade. very sharp and durable. the shaft is rather light, and may brake if used to block. but should be fine for throwing or thrusting. it is a little front heavy, but that fits my throwing style. for me, it is acurate well past 20 yards. overall, i am pleased with the spear, but for the money, it should have a better shaft.

Not good
The blade is not completely parallel with the shaft, thrusting with this would be a bit off from what it supposed to be.. The handle is made out of some extremely light and flimsy feeling wood. The blade is dull on both the edge and the tip Overall i'm unhappy with what i revived for the price i payed.
