If you thought this bowie was just a beautiful work of art (which it is) to hang on the wall, but not a real user? Think again. I've chopped down 2 trees with this beast, real trees with 8-10 inch diameter trunks... as well as dozens of the branches chopped into firewood. The edge has not a single mark, and still decently sharp after all that. This blade is massive, not super thick, but apparently has a badass heat treat, and/or really good steel, because it seems all but invincible, and I've got a decent little collection of bowies for comparison. For instance, I put this knife up in a chopping contest vs the Condor Undertaker, which is a $90-$100 knife and designed for chopping... the Undertaker was brand new also, vs the Armor of God bowie having already downed and dismantled 2 full trees... long story short, it was close, but both myself and my daughter judged this blade to be biting just a bit deeper, and chopping a bit more efficiently than the brand new razor sharp Undertaker. This secured this knife's spot as king of my collection, and also secured its nickname I'd taken to calling it, "Big Daddy"!

Great full tang knife, 11 inch blade at 3/16 inch thick came factory sharp. But, after 30 minutes on a leather strop, also purchased from BudK, it now shaves the hair off my arm. Giving it 4 stars because I just think a brown sheath would go better with this kind of Bowie.
