Great item to have along in the outdoors while hunting or camping!
This is a very good tomahawk. I got this for my friends for Christmas and they loved it. Does not come too sharp but it still stuck in the wood when we were throwing it. Extremely well for the price. I would buy another.
Great hatchet for the price. Buddy loved it as a gift. Would purchase again in a minute.
These were great some people though either didn't read or pay attention to what the description says about its not meant to be thrown (but can be) tomahawk in the name is just the brand but the hatchet filled its purpose as a hatchet by my mountaineer standards
got this tomahawk while getting other hatchets and throwing axes so wasnt really paying attention to the size so when i had opened up the pakage and saw a little axe i was like wtf. I endded up breaking the case as soon as i opened it so i was a little disappointed in that but i went out side and sharpened a few twigs and decided to throw it and to my amazment the sucker stuck on the first throw so i threw another and another and they both stuck unfortunatly i had lost the paracord on the third throw so i wrapped in electrical cord and it works great actually just bought 3 more just to use as throwing axes -great buy id say
A very good buy. Have shown it around to Knife people. considered sturdy. Paracord handle is great. It's used the same as having a knife with a 550 cord handle.Would buy again.
I love these little guys. And trust me, they are little. You won't be cutting down tree's with these anytime soon. However, they are a solid piece of metal and REALLY fun to throw. I'd get two or three for my target. As for the sheath, mine works great! Buttons and all.
I love it when i got it the first thing i did was field tested it it throws good and chops good and it sharpens good and holds an edge very good and would be great for a snipers bag.
This was my first purchase.Along with 2 Cavalry swords and a Sawback Machete, this Tomahawk Axe was probably the best thing i ever purchased. Not that its much of a problem, but after a few throws the back tip paint got scratched but it was easy to repaint. Thanks Budk!
A very nice little axe some people complained about the size, but it gives the dimensions on the product description. I think it is perfect light, durable, and well made. Five stars.
Nice little axe my son really likes to cut tree branches, and brush with it. After a few hours of abuse it was pretty dull, but was very easy to sharpen a very good axe for the price.
Let see..where do I begin? I don't think this will really be of any use in combat, been there done that..this is way too small. That said, I can see a use other than combat..say..personal protection, ya gotta ditch the case, its OK, but when seconds matter..you definitely don't want to be putzin with the case, tryin to get this out and in use. For small camp details, this will work fine, when mine arrived it was quite sharp..however, I'm one of those that if its sharp now..it can and will be a lot sharper when I'm done with it. All in all I'm satisfied, didn't plan on the small size, but am now used to it. It now resides in my everyday go bag, sits in there next to one of my other BUDK favorites, the neck knife. When not hanging around my neck..it..goes into my go bag. This way no matter what..I know beyond a shadow of a doubt I will always be armed.
I bought this small axe as a birthday gift for my little brother who is in scouts and he has absolutely loved it. It came out sharp and the grip was tight. It is strong enough to get the job done and still light enough to take with on a 50-miler.
Alot of use with this little axe and it still stands strong, i've thrown it, chopped hard mesquite wood, split wood, etc... Nothing but cosmetic damage has occurred. stays sharp and sticks well.
That's weird because when I first opened my axe and swung it around I also accidentally chopped my (brand new) bedpost. This is a great all around axe and has had no problems yet (besides messing up my new bedpost and a small chip when I missed a stick and hit a rock). Everyone should have one and it really makes a great camp axe, just be careful around bedposts! I'm writing this review because I'm about to buy another axe and I realized I never wrote a review for the first one!
pretty good nothing compared to my mini machete if i had to i would take it surviving. oh yaa great for throwing.keep it coming Budk
Little smaller than expected, but perfect size for bugout bag, not going to build a log cabin with it but it will work for survival which is what I wanted.
I got two of these a while back. I wasn't sure about the size with me having big hands. After some time with them. I have come to like them a lot. They fit nicely in my bag. Dont see me lumberjacking with em though. My only big issue was that cheap pos cord that they came wrapped in. Removed that and replaced it with some 550 paracord and we were in business. With the price I give it a 4.
This axe performs just as any axe would, just remember it pick a smaller job for it. It wasn't very sharp at all. It's the prefect campfire complement.
Seems to me that the people who bought this item and complain about it, are people who failed to READ that it is a hatchet (8 1/2 inches long), not a "lumberjack's axe"! For the price, a good-product. Worth the purchase (for non-idiots who won't cut themselves).
not a camping axe put fun for nailing tree"s stiks good.could be used for self defiences all in all a very fun toy
not very big but it is fun to play with. and it is definatly sharp, i stupidly sliced my thumb open with it while takeing it out of the shieth. its useless to chop a tree down but is fun to throw and cut up stuff
These things are pretty cool! Im just starting out throwing tomahawks and it actually sticks pretty good, but the only complaint I have is that the nylon cord handle got really loose on mine and I have to find something else to make a grip on this thing, any suggestions?
This axe is good if you're throwing it. It has no chopping power at all. The paracord is annoying and loose, so I took it off, and then re-wrapped it much more nicely. It wont stick into plywood or anything so be sure you have a good target. All in all, a decent axe.
Smaller then the picture makes it look. The sheath for it is cheaply made and the snaps on it broke apart very quickly.
The axe itself however is very nice. It comes dull but sharpens easy and keeps its edge.
I bought this to match one a had got at a local gun show....I love these little things....good quality metal...sharp blade..lots of fun. The sheath could be better but who cares, and the cord wrap on the handle is loose but with a little tweaking and tightening and a few drops of resin in the right places it will never come loose again...over all great purchase for the price.
This axe is so tiny. Couldn't believe it at first made me laugh then gave it a toss and the thing is a b-e-a-utiful thing. Great for hiking and amazing price though I may need 2 more in case.
This was alright, the shipping was a little slow. The axe itself is VERY small, not good for combat, maybe good for camp chores or dressing an animal. The cord wrap handle is cheap Chinese cord, I replaced it with paracord. Still not too bad for the price.
My second buy from true swords. It was alot shorter then i thought it would be.A little less sharp then i thought also.
But it steal works though the sheath works great to the steal looks really cool though.Over all its still good 4/5
Amazing quality for the money! Nice steele, very sharp upon arrival. I dropped it fresh out of the package and it stuck in the bedpost of my bed! NOW, BudK, double the size and I will buy a dozen of those for my entire family!
Suitable for your Lizzie Borden dollhouse. It will, however, cut baling twine on hay bales so it does have a use. Small size would pack well for backwoods, just don't expect to "fell the mighty oak". You might be there for a while!
Nice for throwing but that's about it. The nylon sheath sucks, it broke in about a week. The cord wrapped handle sucks, it broke after throwing it a few times.
If you collect items of this type this might be a good value but I had hoped for a small hatchet to carry backpacking. At a mere 8.24 ounces this combat axe is too light to be a useful camping tool. I give it 3 stars for price and quality as a collectable.
its small, sharp, but doesn't chop wood easily, you can throw but you have to know how to throw it first, the blade does get dented easily, and if you cut off extra string on handle, it unravels very easily but u can put a electric tape grip on instead and it still works great.
