This authentically detailed replica is a reproduction of the actual filming prop built by Weta Workshop of New Zealand and used in the motion picture, THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY. United Cutlery, industry leader in fine movie reproductions, has meticulously recreated the prop using only the finest grade materials and craftsmanship. Close attention to detail was a top priority. The blade of Orcrist features a curved leaf shape on one side, and a straight edge on the other, a fitting design for a blade meant to cleave Orcs and Goblins. Adorning the pommel is an emblem of the heraldry of Ecthelion of the Fountain. The hilt is shaped from the tooth of a dragon. It is unknown if the tooth was acquired prior to the fifth battle of the First Age, or added to the sword with the inscription in the millennia after the Fall of Gondolin, most likely by the Dwarves of the North.

  • Inscriptions on the sword in Elven runes: On the guard is the name Orcrist "Goblin-cleaver"
  • Blade: Stainless steel with etched runic inscription: "The serpent's tooth"
  • Hilt: Solid metal parts, simulated gem stones, acrylic resin grip cast
  • Includes wood wall display and certificate of authenticity
  • 38 ¾" long; 25 7/8" blade

Awesome Sword Reviewed by Terry Butikofer on Dec 25, 2014   5 out of 5

The weight, balance, beautiful design is awesome-perfect for any lover of The Hobbit!

perfect for DS Reviewed by Myakka on Jul 30, 2014   5 out of 5

This sword is perfect for late night DS travel. It's sweeping blade cuts through posts, and is highly recommended by noted swordsmen such as Scipio, and Brewmaster. TxHannah found it hard to wield due to the weight, but she is much more deadly with a porcelain bowl anyway......

Thorin's sword Reviewed by Silas on May 30, 2014   5 out of 5

This is the first sword that I have ever purchased (I am 14 and had to save and work for it) and I thought this one should be this it. I am a big fan of all the movies and I love this sword!! The grip on it is fantastic. I don't know why some people complain about how they can "tell it is plastic". It seems fine to me! :) It will look nice on my wall. I love the blue highlight on it and it is a very good replica. When I save up again, I think I will add 'the foe hammer', and after that, Sting. To go in order of appearance of course, though Thorin picks up Glamdring first. I really like the runes in scripted in the sword and the overall quality. It is in a class of it's own! I urge you to but it!!!!!!!!!!

AMAZING! Beautiful piece of art. It is the second in my daughter's collection, who is 14 years old, but it is definitely a MANLY DWARF size and QUALITY piece. The balance is beautiful. The craftsmanship would make any elf proud to own it, let alone a Dwarf King. It is much more impressive than any picture makes it and the price is marvelous for what you get.

Outstanding!!!! Reviewed by Mike on Feb 24, 2014   5 out of 5

It's refreshing to see Orcrist in its' falchion styling, setting it apart from the other long/broadswords with distinction. As always, well done, both from United Cutlery and Bud K!!!
