Czech Bayonet Reviewed by Chris Davenport on Jul 30, 2016   2 out of 5

This was a strong disappointment to me. The sheath is weathered but still very pliable and in good condition. However, the blade was rusted and pitted very badly. I did not buy it for collecting, I got it for use as a knife in camping or packing around. However it does not clean up, does not sharpen and does not really look functional even. The one in the picture is way better looking, and some reviews got a much better bayonet then I did. Perhaps you will get a better deal, but its a gamble......

Pretty Rough but Serviceable Reviewed by Craig Eacker on Jul 06, 2016   3 out of 5

This was the second I ordered, the first one was the previous review, this one is in pretty rough condition. The blade, guard and other steel parts have a lot of pitting and the handle is beat up but still solid...The sheath was in good condition but the stitching was coming apart at the end so I just used glue to keep things from coming apart....The first one I ordered went on a camping trip with me and was used to baton kindling and other camp uses and held up well. This last one is kinda ugly but for my purposes and considering the price I'll keep it but I'm pretty sure a lot of folks would be unhappy with the condition of the bayonet I received, although it cleaned up a little with some work.....

Decent bayonet Reviewed by on Jun 27, 2016   4 out of 5

This bayonet for the Czech VZ58 rifle was made in 3 variations the first had a partial length tang and no finger guard, the second and what I received is like the first except with a small finger guard, the third variation has a tang that runs full length through the handle and protrudes slightly as in the photo. The bayonet I received looks unissued, but has some really deep pitting in one area around both sides of the blade. The sheath is well used and had a repair to the reinforced areas at the tip and the retention strap was a replacement. The strap was tight so I used lots of olive oil to help it to stretch and it also helped to darken the leather to match better. The bayonets don't usually seem to be actually sharpened so expect to need a file and sharpening stone. I put a good point and very sharp edge on mine but it took some work...It makes a decent knife to toss in a bug out bag or for outdoor use but don't expect to be able to carve nice feather sticks with it. For the great deal I got mine for I'm really happy, but for full price the deep pitting would have been something that would have bothered me....

Great Buy Reviewed by Eric Hamby on Nov 19, 2015   4 out of 5

It was a very good quality bayonet. It comes dull but that is to be expected with wartime stuff of this period. Both the bayonet and the sheath have many miles on them (the sheath is the softest and most broken in leather I've ever felt). Overall a good buy!

disappointed Reviewed by Jake Krys on Oct 20, 2015   2 out of 5

I was pretty excited to get this knife but was disappointed when it arrived. The blade was covered in rust, the grips were broken, and the blade was ground off to a very thick round edge. The knife can't even be sharpened. The sheath was in OK condition for being issued. Overall I'm not impressed with this knife at the price.

Rare find Reviewed by Peter on May 25, 2015   4 out of 5

Nice vz rifle bayonet. Not so easy to find anymore.Bayonet arrived looking un-issued,however leather sheath had many miles on it. The handle grips are NOT WOOD!. They are the dark red bakelite/fiber composition common to bayonets like these. The blade is blunt and dull so don't expect to be using it like a knife.Sharpening it would only lessen it's collectable value.C.H.K's price on this item is very competitive, most times being cheaper than others.Look for Kadels 20 or 30% off on-line deals and grab it. Well worth it!
