"I bought this sword as a birthday gift for my brother. He really likes it. I inspected it well & it seems to be in tip top shape. I could tell immediately that the steel is high quality. Very strong & only slightly bends. Makes me wonder if all Shinwa katana swords are made from folded steel or just this one? Either way, it was a great deal considering what you get for a wonderful price. We are fully satisfied!"
"I received this very nice Katana recently on my birthday. very happy and appreciated to have received this one, it is mainly described as a display model. However, after using and inspecting the blade carefully I believe it to be fully functional as well. Grateful to have one. Recommended."

"I found it to be an excellent katana for the price I paid for it. Although slightly heavier, it still makes for a good training sword. The extra weight assists in developing strength in the muscles required to handle the katana. A good value for its price."

"I'm a blade enthusiast and I bought many Shinwa swords from BUDK in the past and they are amazing pieces to own. I purchased this sword along with other blades recently to add to my collection. The package for the whole purchase came half opened with a big hole in it. A couple of the knives were defective so I had to return them. As for the Shinwa sword, it came in an intact, though untaped, box. The saya was fine. The sword blade itself was unwrapped (my experience is they all came wrapped in a plastic wrap) and the blade was bone dry without a single drop of oil on it. The habaki had a couple dings on it but the blade itself was intact. These are small things that really can compromise the blade especially when stored, and it might be a blade which was returned to BUDK and they are trying to get rid of. This is not my past experience with BUDK products, and I'm very disappointed by the lack of attention to small details. I didn't return the sword as I like it and the blade is not damaged, plus I bought it on discount. BUDK should pay more attention to these things in the future."
