A good knife for general utility. You will need to sharpen it as it comes with a dull edge. It sharpens easily. Regarding the pin that holds the pommel, I put a drop of epoxy glue in the cavity. This is a very good value for a nicely made knife.

It's United Cutlery....says it all. Reviewed by on Sep 14, 2016   5 out of 5

This is a good LOOKING knife. It looks just like a Ka-Bar. That being said, looks aren't anything. If you want a Ka-Bar, buy a Ka-Bar. I needed this knife as a prop in a play and so it met my needs. I didn't want to use one of my Ka-Bars so I bought this knife. When I compared it to an actual Ka-Bar, here is what I found: 1. The sheath of the Ka-Bar far exceeds the sheath of this knife in quality and build. 2. This knife is much lighter than the Ka-Bar. Why? I couldn't really tell. The blade is a bit thinner, but not by a great deal. I can only assume it is the type of metal used. 3. The buttcap on the handle is not affixed as securely on this knife as it is on the Ka-Bar. 4. The blade is not sharp. I suppose I could cut myself with it, but United Cutlery knives are not known for being razor sharp upon arrival, are not known for being capable of being sharpened to a razor edge or even for edge retention. So, if you want a knife that LOOKS good, (perfect for a prop in a play), this is a good price for a prop. If you want a knife that is Ka-Bar quality, then buy a Ka-Bar. If you can't afford a Ka-Bar, then look at the Case Marine Corp knife. Case, Ka-Bar and Camillus all made knives used by Marines in WW2. Personally, I carry a Gerber LMF (2nd gen), and a Gerber Prodigy as my fixed blade knife. My wife and son carry the Ka-Bars.

Well it is a great knife for only $20. But the blade can easily break, but only if you abuse it. My suggestion to anyone buying this: DO NOT STICK THIS IN A TREE! That's what I did and the tip came right off

This knife is a great buy at 20 bucks, I'm very impressed. Pommel was a little loose, but was easily fixed. The only thing I didn't like was it was made in china.

Perfect knife! Reviewed by on Dec 25, 2015   5 out of 5

I just opened this knife and it looks great! I didn't have any problems with the pin. I love the blade and the handle. No problems and I would recommend this knife to anyone. The sheath is real leather too.

Excellent except... Reviewed by on Dec 08, 2015   4 out of 5

This is the best $20.00 knife you will find. I believe the handle is stacked leather but the sheath may to be synthetic although I'm not sure about that, it sure looks like leather to me. The blade looks and feels good and would be able to stop any dog attack and give you a fighting chance against a black bear although my money would be on the bear in most cases. I had to redo the end cap because the pin securing it was loose. I just took a drill bit the same size as the existing hole in the cap and drilled the cap all the way through, then took a nail slight larger than the hole (dia.) and filed it to a tight fit and hammered it in, then cut it flush.

Excellent Value Reviewed by Paul Napper on Oct 20, 2015   5 out of 5

Purchased two of these knives and used one to field dress a deer. Knife stayed sharp even after cutting through the sternum of the deer. The only problem I had was with the pin holding on the end cap for the stacked leather, which was fixed with a tighter pin and a little super glue. For the price you couldn't get a better deal.

Good For The Price Reviewed by on Sep 15, 2015   4 out of 5

It's more than I expected for the price. It looks like it's from 1942 with the stacked leather handle and it comes pretty sharp. Mine came with a small rectangle at the bottom of the pommel missing(supposed to be there?) so I could see that it was full tang up to there. If I look closely I can see a few small areas on the blade that are missing the coating(doesn't really matter). The sheath is extremely tough and looks great and the knife isn't very heavy to carry around. I'm glad that I bought it.
