I really like this bowe knife. The only thing the worries me about it, is that when I pulled it from its sheath; it had started rusting. I cleaned it off and wiped it down with WD-40. It looks like that stopped it from corroding any further but, have left it out of the sheath. May try putting it back in the sheath to see what happens.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

What a surprise when I opened this package. This knife is worth at least three times what I paid for it. It is HUGE, has a good heft to it and will do every thing you could need to get done. I will buy more for gifts and I would recommend this knife to every one. This is a beauty!Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

Ordered 2 of these, one for a friend. Knife comes about as sharp as a butter knife and requires several hours of work to get it moderately sharp, for $20 it's a full tang bowie so you can't complain too much.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

Bought one for my brother-in-law and noticed the sheath was much thicker leather (1/8 thick) and lighter colored as opposed to the paper thin sheath I got when I bought this knife two years ago. The belt loop doesn?t seem as long either which is good. The knife itself (after it was unwrapped) looks like it too is better quality. Way to go Budk! That makes me want to buy myself another one.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

I like the cheapo deals from Bud-K, get what I expect every time. This bowie is a real bowie that could be utilized in the wild for many things. A bowie is a working knife which will prove to be useful in many capacities. Have to evaluate personally but I checked it over it is built solid...Let you know in a year how it really holds up. for the sheath I plan to use copper wire to reinforce the stitching, a leather tie down for less movement in the woods might help. Not to mention some oil on the leather to preserve it...Well worth the price no matter where it was made. You get what you pay for so no one should be too harsh of a criticizer.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

It is an amazing knife. i bought one last summer and it will stand up to any test you want to throw at it. the only problem i had with it is the sheath. the belt loop is massive, it slides around quite a bit. if i could make any changes i would say put in stronger rivets on the sheath and ad a cord or something you could use to strap it to your leg. but over all it is a good knife.Would you recommend this to a friend? If you are into bowies, this is a great inexpensive knife. This isn't a knife that is made to set in the safe to look at, its made to work and carry. If you are expecting a show knife this isn't for you. That being said, it is a very nice knife for overseas construction. It is full tang, with a real brass pomel and, finger guard. Mine came to me out of the box decently sharp. The blade is constructed of surgical steel, so it will hold a good edge and take a lot of beating. The blade is around a 1/4 inch at the thickest point. The wood handle construction is very nice for a $20 knife. The sheath is ok, I have heard a lot of people complain about it, but its not that bad. My two complaints with the sheath is that the belt loop is a little to big, I feel you would pull the sheath up to far when you are skinning the knife, and in between the face and rear of the sheath lies a foam insert. I feel that could wear away over a long period of time. The snap for the sheath also gets in the way when you are skinning the knife and, you will probably start to slice into it. Those are my only cons with this item. Over all this is an awesome knife made to work. I will be ordering another Timber Rattler knife soon.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

The Timber Rattler Western Outlaw Bowie is an imposing knife. It is very large with a striking design and look. Although a heavy knife, it handles very well and is comfortable to grip and use. I am quite pleased with it and rated it 4 stars instead of 5 for only one reason - inconsistency in sharpness on delivery. I initially bought 3 and those were excellent. They were sharp out of the box and with only slight effort I was able to put a very keen edge on all 3. I then ordered two more, and these were not sharp at all on delivery and took considerable work to sharpen. Once that was done, they were as good as the first three, but it would be nice to have a little more consistency in that aspect of these knives. That being said, they are still an awesome and impressive knife and well worth the price.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes
