STRONGER HANDLE NEEDED. Reviewed by Jonathan Cole on Mar 14, 2016   5 out of 5

It put a hole in my garage floor and cut through the concrete but I broke the handle on a log. Slices through most things. Very sturdy handle but not sturdy enough to chop logs.

Needs a little work, but not disappointing Reviewed by Alexander Vargo on Sep 27, 2015   4 out of 5

Out-of-the-box, it comes with a very weathered and rough-used look, and is also only rough-ground, making it an excellent costume option as-is. However, its use is not limited to decor; the blade is MEATY, almost reaching 1/4 in. thick near the guard. (It will still make cuts with the rough edge, so mind where you swing it) For those looking at this for a functional piece, be aware that the blade is twisted along its length, and this will negatively impact cutting performance. The blood grooves present look like an outline for a fuller, and proved pretty useful for just that, and the steel surprised me with its hardness. The edge needed a good bit of filing before proper sharpening, but that again was thanks to the hardness. The nylon wrap on the grip came free next to the guard, but some superglue fixed it just fine. The scabbard is not really a scabbard at all, it's a cover with a zipper and a shoulder-strap that won't fit for more than a rifle-carry, which defeats the purpose. (It doesn't stay in place at the belt very well either, and the hilt gets in the way) Thus far, I've seen great edge retention, and cutting isn't really restricted by the twist in the blade, but...you'll definitely feel the difference between it and a straight blade for certain. While the hilt is very long, it offers several options for grip, and the ring pommel gives you a couple extra grip options for a choked-down grip, and for thrusts. The hilt's fit-up has been stellar thus far, with the guard seeming to have been hammered into place, however, there is a fairly wide gap between the guard and the center of the blade on both sides. Despite everything wrong with it, this one can be cleaned up into fighting shape quite easily. Definitely offers the value of $60, just expect to invest a bit of effort to make it nice.

not real blood grooves Reviewed by Mark Rayburn on May 14, 2015   2 out of 5

First opened it and frowned a bit, most of the paint on the blade isn't there(was faded) , the blood groves were two little weld markings on each side didn't even make a groove. Lastly the blade was oiled/greased. First time I might actually send something back in all my days of buying from the web

Very solidly built, it comes sharp, it is very intimidating. DON'T expect pretty however. This has the appearance of a real weapon. If you like that sort of thing, this is a good deal
