"this is an amazing weapon. . . it can be a knife,fighting sticks, and a spear. . . plus, it is compact when you take it down to pieces into the pouch with a sling. . . the compass will be helpful on cloudy days and at night where the poles are. . . thank you Budk."

"I always hike with some kind of stick, both to support myself and as a means of self defense. The Amazon Jungle Survivor Break down Spear is useful for both. The spear breaks down and fits into a nice zippered fabric case. The seperate pieces are hollow, so you could store other survival items. It has a compass on one end. The one thing that I would change or add is a way to make it longer. One more length would be perfect. I wish there was a way to purchase one more section and not have to purchase the entire spear. I do not throw it. I don't know if it would hold up to being thrown. I use it as a means to get an animal to back off. In my area that is usually dogs that sometimes run in packs. If you have a dog, they usually attack the dog first. You can use one half as a club and the other half as a short spear. I would purchase it again and do recommend it to others."

"This spear is awesome. It does the job and feels sturdy. I think that it could be improved by adding an extra length to screw in. Furthermore, you guys could play around with deepening the screw in grooves and experimenting with their mecahnism. I don't know much about steel manufacturing but that could be a start to making this spear even better than it already is."
"The flaw is that the compass will be hidden. I was under the impression that the compass would be on the very end of the staff, but you are forced to completely hide the compass when assembling. Can’t wait to throw this. The tip better not break!"
"Overall this spear is very well made. It is not however perfectly straight when assembled. Has a slight bend. Also would be nice if it came with a plastic or rubber sheath as the speartip/blade is razor sharp and long."
