"This Billy club is unlike any of the dozens I have and quickly taking the top spot of favorite for me. I really like this piece. Seems to be designed for knots and bruises,not funerals. Everybody should own a few of these masterful sticks. I enjoy the rubber tire smell myself ."

"This"billy club"would put a hurtin on someone,should you need to use it. Yes,when you first get it,it smells like rubber and since it is rubber,that's what it should smell like! Once you have it awhile,the smell goes away and you have a good self defense item."
"For the price, a nice club - haven't had a chance to use it yet in an emergency situation - got 4 of them - one for each vehicle and home - leave out in the sun a few days and the rubber smell almost goes away - My only complaint is with BudK CS as I have an issue with them - but this is a good deal especially with BOGO Free"
"I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box on this STINKY little beast! It made me laugh out loud when the tire smell came streaming out and punched me in the nose!!! What a hoot! All kidding aside,you will not be disappointed with this durable little smakahI recommend leaving it outside,or in a shed for a least a week,until some of the smell dies down. This is a great product to take along while walking or jogging in the neighborhood,to ward off the occasional stray dog(they seem to be intimidated by the stink too!) Having moved from thePeoples Republicof Massachusetts several years ago,I like to order ANYTHING that can't be shipped there. Buy it!"
"Wow...This is a gnarly, nasty, stinky little Beast!!! I Love it!!!! Someone messing with you sees you whip this out and they will run for their lives...lol. Good tips from other reviewers on how to get rid of the tire smell, but I think it adds to the intimidation factor. (Just kidding...it smells bad, but it will fade eventually like tires) For $10 you can't lose. IDK how someone else who reviewed this broke theirs first day unless they were smacking cinder blocks, which this isn't for. (Try a hammer??) I too will be removing the Stainless Ring/Belt-clip thingy and replace with maybe a para-cord lanyard or similar such means. I will repurpose the SS clip too. Really an awesome little BUD K offering. As far as it's effectiveness...IDK. But I'm sure if a would be attacker saw me with this, if they didn't laugh so hard at it's appearance to where I could subdue them, I'm sure they would reconsider other possible areas of their person to defend against it's power. Embrace and enjoy the freedom we all have to patronize a fun outfit like Bud K people...before we're not allowed to."

"I snipped off the belt clip. That looked like a good way to get a nasty pinch. No one wants a nasty pinch while fending off bad guys. Plus, who is going to wear something this phallic on their hip? Yes, it smells. Not forever though. I haven't had to use it yet... (You can tell because I'm writing this review from home and not from jail) but I'm sure it's tough enough to stand many impacts from someone else's face. The nubs might wear off eventually, but if that is the case you should move somewhere less violent."
