The stick does the trick!
"I walk with a cane, and I often carry a very small Tasco monocular with me in a coat pocket. When I saw this cane—with a built-in telescope (!)—I was naturally intrigued, so I ordered one immediately. The cane itself is a handsome piece of wood, and the telescope very cleverly folds up into end of it. However, the brass mechanism for the telescope is not rigid enough to support my weight directly, so when I walk I must grasp the wood below the brass, which not ideal but is workable. The telescope is small and not very powerful, but neither is that little monocular I usually carry (its magnification seems to be identical), so I was satisfied with it. The cane does offer one huge advantage: It serves as a tripod (or in this case, a monopod) to keep the image stable when I’m peering through the telescope. Typically, when using my monocular, I’ve had to brace my arm against something to hold the lens still. This cane handily solves that problem. It's a keeper!"
