Product Description
A sword just like this CSA Cavalry Saber Sword was used by an officer in the Confederate States Army. This replica is patterned after the 1833 US Dragoon saber. The long, straight blade is common to sabers carried by heavy cavalry of the early 1800s European armies and was the basis for the 1833 model. It has a 31 1/2" tempered carbon steel blade with CSA etched on the blade and a leather wrapped handle. Any collector of Civil War reproductions absolutely needs to have this officer's saber.
This is a excellent recreation of a 1860's saber. I actual reorder anothe saber as a gift for my brother, another history buff. No other offered saber can match this one for value vs cost.

Bought this as a gift and was very impressed by the quality and detail. Looks great, wasnt sharpened but that was expected. Only a small imperfection on the leather wrap on the handle but over all very satisfied.

this is an amazing sword very well worth the price, shipped in amazing condition a little heavy but still worth it, a must buy.

I bought this for my dad as a Christmas knowing he would like it. And I would have to agree, the sword that was sent to me is a nice piece of work. Nothing wrong with it what so ever. I suggest that you buy this sword and add it to your collection, it's worth the money spent.

CSA Sabre
When I recieved this one I was very impressed by the look and feel of it in the hand as well as the excellent overall appearance. For such a blade it balances well in the hand, the wired wrapped leather grip and bright brass guard set off the etched blade nicely. The sheath is an excellent added value to the sabre and should fulfill reenactor needs very well without being cumbersome during a day in the field. Highly recommended.

Confederate Cavalry Officer's Saber Sword
A pretty good sword. Just a couple of quirks.. For one it say it's a confederate sword But I got a union. The paint on the scabbard chips, and the topper thing at the end of the sheath was loose. But the blade doesn't wobble and it is pretty sturdy. I like the weight and length. Overall it is a great buy.

This sword is a beautiful piece of art, its awe inspiring and deserves to belong in a museum. The blade is very long to boot! The only problem I have with it are two things; The blade is a bit on the heavy side, and the blade is considerably hard to unsheath when you first draw the Sabre, but after a few days of drawing it and putting it back, it would come eaiser.

Disappointed
Positives: Available engraving.
Negatives: build quality is lacking; I'm not really a sword aficionado, but I do know that confederate cavalry sabers did not include a conspicuous acorn nut poking out of the end and holding the hilt together. The scabbard was scuffed and covered in a thick red fluid that i *hope* was grease. brass parts are tarnished, and the blade shows conspicuous tooling marks.
I wasn't expecting perfection, but this thing looks like it was made carelessly, and left sitting in a garage in a puddle of transmission fluid for a year. I bought it as a gift for my best man, but I'm not giving it to him. hopefully I can find a better option elsewhere! I wanted to like it. honestly. :(

save your money
not a bad sword but save your money buy the cheaper version. what they don't show you is the nut on the hilt that holds the handle on and the etching is a little on the weak side. also the blade is very wavy and the polish could be better. over all its not that bad of a saber but just not worth the 59.99
