This is an authentic, working reproduction of range finder that was produced by the Frankford Arsenal before and during the Civil War. It has a solid brass construction with a slide and the exact length of twine string attached to take your measurements. The front side is calibrated for infantry and the rear side for cavalry.

"For those interested in how things "used to be done" this range finder is a good addition to the collection. I actually bought both styles carried by BUDK, and this one is the better of the two. This method of range finding isn't as accurate as the latest laser rangefinder, but it is quite functional. Just set the string length for you personally against a known distance and it's ready to use. I like them both, but this is the preferred style for me."
