So I get the "Hawk" Hatchet and I was initially dismayed by the "sheeyith" pun intended. It was made out of diaper fabric and lasted the length of time it took to fasten to my belt and voila', it was kaput. The hatchet on the other hand was decent when I took it to prune my mulberry tree. It made short work out of a laborious task with the branches. But for $8.00 Not a total loss. I would safely say it paid for itself.
Nice axe for the price, easy to wield and light to carry, sheath.....its been said already. Editor's Note: Thank you for your comments. We have updated the review to reflect the appropriate spelling.
Ax is balanced and very sharp. Head is liteweight compared to wood camp ax. Overall very good especially for making kindling wood. Toss the sheath and wrap the head in something self-made.
Poor quality handle, the handle broke on mine the first day the key words here is impact resistant. I still have the blade, it seams to be the best part im going to try to make a new handle for it; Yes its true the sheath is less than cardboard.
this is a very well balanced hatchet for being as light as it is also it is super sharp and holds its edge. needs to have aq better sheath this one is awful card board would be better.
This is a very nice hatchet and I like the ABS suregrip handle. It fits great in the hand, but the sheath is pathetic. It broke twice in less than a week. The snaps come out of the leather and the belt loop ripped right out.
