Highlander Open Mouth Dragon Katana with Black Lacquered Saya - 1045 High Carbon Steel Blade - Battle Ready

This sword is every thing I expected nice and sturdy and very straight it's battle ready and very nice handle the craftsmanship is excellent this is my first actual katana and I love very sharp

I have wanted this sword for many years and a great fan of the Highlander genre. I was not disappointed. I am giving it a full five stars because it is what I expected. I bought it for sentimental reasons and as a office decoration. I was not initially a big fan of the multicolor on the handle as it did not represent the highlander sword in the films and series, but seeing the handle in person, it is quite beautiful and the computer image does not show the color's symmetry and positive aspect to the overall sword. I am quite satisfied with the price and quick delivery. The sword does have a somewhat sharp edge, not razor sharp, but I did not expect this as it was for my office decoration, but this was a nice surprise.

Just received my OMD katana: beautifully designed, light weight, blade is true (actually the straightest blade I've gotten yet from budk), and no dings or warps. 1045 steel gives it good structure. But DO NOT go hacking thick material with it. It's not 1060, 65 or 90. This is a kata/form excersise sword, not a backyard chopper. At most, tatami, water jugs or other things with the consistency of flesh, but CERTAINTY NOT thick branches, metal, etc.
