The Highlanders would definitely have held our Highlander Open Mouth Dragon Katana in high regard. It features an intricately detailed faux ivory handle which resembles a hand carved, open mouthed Japanese dragon. The handle is colorfully hand-painted and features inset faux rubies. A pewter-colored metal alloy tsuba and habaki lead down to the 27 3/4" 1045 high carbon steel blade, which has a deep blood groove. The incredible katana comes sheathed in a black lacquered scabbard with pewter metal alloy, decorative accents to match the tsuba.

Highlander Closed Mouth Dragon Katana

"Beautiful sword, fit and finish are very nice. I will just hang on the wall and look good so I can't tell anymore than that. 🤷‍♂️"

"Good sword for the money. This is not the Highlander sword from the first film. The tsuka ,hilt is from the Highlander TV series also called the Duncan MaCloed sword but this has the tsuba, guard from the original Highlander film. The open mouth dragon tsuka also listed on Bud K is from the first film. These are great swords for what they cost since a functional replica will start around $1000 and up."

Finally

"I have wanted this sword for many years and a great fan of the Highlander genre. I was not disappointed. I am giving it a full five stars because it is what I expected. I bought it for sentimental reasons and as a office decoration. I was not initially a big fan of the multicolor on the handle as it did not represent the highlander sword in the films and series, but seeing the handle in person, it is quite beautiful and the computer image does not show the color's symmetry and positive aspect to the overall sword. I am quite satisfied with the price and quick delivery. The sword does have a somewhat sharp edge, not razor sharp, but I did not expect this as it was for my office decoration, but this was a nice surprise."

Good for the money.

"Pros:. Sword is really good looking. Blade was straight. Not super sharp out of the box (this is a con for some but I use my swords for Iai so this is a plus for me). Cons:. When swung the handle creaks due to poor fitting. Also if you shake it there are pieces of loose plastic rattling around in the handle. Conclusion:. Excellent decorative piece but I'm still deciding if I'm comfortable swinging it. Definitely wouldn't use this for any serious cutting."

Razor sharp out of the box!

"I came home yesterday to find this sword and others had arrived. Like a kid in a candy store i opened my packages to reveal this beautiful rendition of Remirez's sword in the movie "Highlander". I had purchased one many eons ago from United Cutlery when they where making them. I dont think they ate making this sword currently. However the sword i recieved today is actually so much better than the one i bought 26 years ago. This one has the heft and weight of a battle ready sword. Yes they sell a decorative version of this blade here on Budk for under $30.00, but im telling you that this obe is nuts crazy sharp and has decent balance and just geels right in my hands. Not exactly the crown of my collection but one dang hoot tartin' fun to swing full tang sword."
