Sword cane that looks more cane than sword. . .

"Decided on the Honshu sword cane for the reason that it doesn't look like a sword thinly disguised as a cane. Most of the other choices were either impractical for use as a cane or too easily distinguishable as being a weapon. Since the whole point is having an undetectable defensive weapon, it just makes more sense to me to choose the Honshu. I have no complaints, and recommend this to anyone looking for a covert defensive tool."

A bit unexpected

"Overall, great piece of engineering. The cane is stout yet easy to use. The grip is well fitted to my hand and comfortable to use for extended periods of time. The only thing that threw me off is that the "blade" is actually a spike. No cutting edge, but woe to the sap who tears off the shaft. Needle point, great for punching holes in any would-be attacker. Great quality and very useful (I'm not a small guy), but don't expect to fillet anything."

Honshu sword cane

"This sword came is an excellent personal defense weapon. Has a ridged spike blade that will not let you down. No where good as a pistol, but will work if circumstances arise where you don’t have access to your pistol."

Good cane, nice sword idea but lacking in execution.

"Cane: 2.33 lbs when cut to 36" total length. Sturdy enough for 265 lb guy to use on a daily basis around the property as a cane. Blade: Thrusting weapon only with a good sharp point. No edge on the square blade. Does have blood gutters like an epee' but no sharp edge. Blade 16" long + 5.5" of handle length, plus 1.5" of grip. Did have to use some foam to keep the blade from rattling. 3 rubber o-rings provide the seal between the cane and the blade handle so the blade fits well and doesn't come out of the cane. Videos show ability to thrust and penetrate and it will, if no one is defending themselves. --- Grip: As a cane, this is a reverse grip so when held correctly the cane extends downward behind the heal of your hand. The grip does not fit well when trying to hold it like a normal cane with the cane extending downward either center of hand or forward. The grip has aggressive finger groves to improve hold when using the weapon but my fingers, which use XL gloves, don't fit well in the groves which are too narrow. I find myself constantly adjusting the cane grip to find a comfortable hold. It is not a comfortable hold as either a cane or sword. The way the grip is held allows for straight thrust with a lot of force behind it. Great, but that type of grip provides very poor lateral control over the tip of the weapon. Which means any defense moves to knock the blade out of line during the thrust (e.g. by knife or forearm) can't be countered by the grip. Holding the grip like a forward grip with the blade extending between the 3rd and 4th fingers seems to give me the best tradeoff between thrusting force and tip control. I do like the blade idea, the weight, sturdiness and would buy it again, just wish the design was a bit more well thought out. If I was designing it, I would use an actual epee' blade design that has sharp edges but I don't have a good answer for a grip that would provide the necessary control while still being a good cane grip."

Not a sword, but an amazing weapon and cane

"It's not a sword, more like a sword breaker, it doesn't have an edge. It's solid and works great as a cane. I'm 6'1" 220 lbs and it supports me very well. Plastic foot easily replaced with a rubber foot. Definitely recommend for EDC."

"I've tried making my own sword canes but nothing ever came close to this sword cane. Beautifully plain looking but strong and surprising light."
