This Japanese odachi sword was carried by foot soldiers as a weapon against cavalry, and could only be used in the open and not while inside or in close ranks due to its length. Measuring 65 1/2" overall, this odachi-style sword features a cord wrapped hilt that is longer than a katana hilt to allow for two-handed wielding. The massive 49" blade is crafted of heat tempered 1045 carbon steel.

"I got it second hand off a friend and its held up pretty well, I've used it for multiple duals and the top of the sheath is the only thing that's broke but I wood glued it back on the blade has a few dents in the blade but there small from where the swords have hit the blade"

A great workout

"I bought this monster for slo-mo excersice purposes...and I'm not disappointed. An excellent wall piece with the engraving option. Unsheathing this solo is a task all in itself. Overall I give it 5 out of 5. :-)"

awesome sword. it caught my

"awesome sword. it caught my eye because of the i beam design on the back of it, because it has that it is sturdy and stable. i have not tried to cutting through anything yet but i know it will be able to handle it. i was at first scared of the workmanship on the handle. i was nerves it would jiggle around, but it is sturdy and amazing. little disappointed that it had glue in the scabbard, but with a little work it will be clean. GOOD BUY WORTH THE DOUGH."
